Please Stop the Uneducated Madness

Even Rasheed is pissed at the garbage being peddled by a recent online entry for SLAM Magazine.I really thought that people who wrote for a major publication were somewhat intelligent and educated. So forgive me for expecting more from you, SLAM Magazine.A certain J. Gamble had this to write for SLAM in an entry from this Thursday:My sources say that Rasheed Wallace and the Cavs are beginning talks on a two-year deal worth about $10 million per for the services of the former Piston. The move and negotiations were inspired by Dwight Howard's dominant performance over Cleveland's big men in the Eastern Conference Finals. And Wallace will be brought in for that very purpose, to neutralize Dwight Howard next season and help the Cavs get over the hump.This supports what we previously reported about what it will take for Sheed to come back next year.If this signing falls through, I'm hearing that Cleveland may do a sign and trade with the Clippers for Zach Randolph, which certainly makes sense for the Clippers since they are taking Blake Griffin No. 1 overall.Let's rip this bunch of crap apart paragraph by paragraph, shall we?First and foremost, $10 million a year for Rasheed? You do realize that the Cavs would need salary cap space to offer that, right? And if the Cavs did have that kind of money to throw around (which they don't -- in fact, they're over the luxury tax), why the hell wouldn't they use it to try and bring back Carlos Boozer? Or Ron freaking Artest? Or anybody on this side of 30 with several productive years left in the prime of their careers?So $10 million per year is a freaking joke. One, because it's literally impossible due to Cleveland's cap situation. Two, if it was possible, then Wallace wouldn't be the first option. Not by a long shot.And Rasheed Wallace is going to slow down Dwight Howard how? In the first-round series against the Cavs, Rasheed couldn't even slow down Joe Smith. Smith didn't even play against Orlando. The last thing the Cavs need is to bring in more sloppy seconds from Detroit named Wallace. We all know how Ben has gone for them so far. And say what you want about Danny Ferry, but I know that he's much too smart to trade for a bum like Zach Randolph. Randolph has never been part of a winning team before. The minute he got more PT in Portland, the Blazers became a lottery team in 2004. When he went to the Knicks in '07, he was nothing more than a stat-padder on a horrific team. Now he's on the Clippers, which is a match made in heaven for him: Pad your stats to your heart's content and lose, lose, and lose.Plus, with Chris Bosh pretty much guaranteeing that he'll be on the open market next summer, the Cavs would be wise to spend their money wisely and effectively. Zebo is signed through 2010-11, during which he'll make $17 million. Bring him in, and kiss the hopes of Chris Bosh goodbye.Do your homework, J. Gamble. And quit quoting "sources." If your "sources" are legit, then they'd know that it's impossible for the Cavs to give anybody $10 million this summer.
