There are times in sports when it is hard to find good things after a loss, but that wasn’t the case in the Suns 85-84 defeat to the New Orleans Hornets on Monday. In fact, there were plenty of positives for the Suns to look at. You start with the combination of Robin Lopez and Markieff Morris. Coming off the bench behind Marcin Gortat, Lopez led all scorers in the game with 21 points knocking down eight of his 12 shots from the field in just 27 minutes of action. The Suns big man was also extremely active with seven rebounds, which included two offensive boards on the glass. Lopez’s biggest presence came though on the defensive end. Emeka Okafor, who has averaged just under 13 points over the course of his career, made only one basket on the night for four points against Lopez. Chris Kaman was active early on in the game, but hardly had his name called in the second half because of the effort Lopez exerted on D. Morris was impressive as well in his rookie debut. Even th...

76ers-Suns Preview

With the NBA seemingly thin on talent at the center position, Phoenix's Robin Lopez and Philadelphia's Spencer Hawes appeared to be two more big busts after disappointing 2010-11 seasons. Each 7-footer showed in this week's opener he still could end up being a major contributor, though only one can help his team get its first victory as the Suns host the 76ers on Wednesday...

Hornets PG Jack to miss opener due to suspension

New Orleans point guard Jarrett Jack will sit out Monday's season opener at Phoenix. Jarrett will serve a one-game suspension for a reckless driving charge during the summer. Newly acquired Greivis Vasquez will get the start in place of Jack. The Hornets made a trade for Vasquez last week in a deal that send Quincy Pondexter to the Memphis Grizzlies. New Orleans Hornets 85, Phoenix Suns 84

The Hornets played great defense in holding the Suns to 39.5% shooting from the floor and that is the main reason they got a nice road win to open the season.  Eric Gordon led the way for the Hornets in this game with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Carl Landry (14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals) and Trevor Ariza (13 points, 7 rebounds...
