Bobcats 94, Celtics 91
Like an old cagey fighter, the Celtics (27-24) waited for an opportunity to deliver a sudden knockout punch against a younger, better rested, and hungrier team in Charlotte. Boston hung around after pouring everything they had into Sunday night’s triple overtime victory over the Nuggets. They kept the game manageable, rested Paul Pierce and K.G. for most of the first half, and even pulled away with a 10-2 run to start the fourth quarter. Yet in the end every athlete has their limits.
The C’s nearly were nearly able to hang on and win their eight straight game thanks to a few extremely difficult fadeaways from The Old Big Ticket, however when the ball was swung to Garnett in the final seconds of a one-possession game, his legs failed him and his 20-foot jump shot attempt from the wing went awry. With that, the post-Rondo winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Bobcats (12-39), a team that had lost seven straight and 34 of their last 38. A disappoint...

Paul Pierce wasn't picked as a reserve for the 2013 All-Star game, nor was he picked as a replacement to fill Rajon Rondo's vacant spot. This despite the fact that Pierce's numbers are remarkably similar to his his stats in previous All-Star seasons. Pierce has been on fire lately (A couple huge triple doubles included) and it appears there might be an All-Star roster...
Paul Pierce had 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists and the Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to seven games with a 118-114 triple overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
Boston's win also ended Denver's winning streak at nine games.
Pierce made a tying 3-pointer in the second overtime to make it 107-107 and extend the game.
Kevin Garnett had 20...

Forget about the shroud of uncertainty surrounding the Boston Celtics thanks to trade rumors and injury concerns circulating this season. It seems as though the veteran ball club has done everything in their power to stave off the doubt and not only maintain their legitimacy in the Eastern Conference, but improve their NBA odds in the process.
With a five-game West Coast swing on...
Tonight, the Celtics will hope to enter All-Star Weekend on a high note when they host the Bulls. The Bulls currently sit at 30-21 and fourth place in the eastern conference. The Celtics currently sit at 27-24 and seventh in the conference. The Celtics are coming off possibly their worst loss of the season with a 94-91 loss Monday night to the Bobcats. This mixed with the season...
BOSTON — Andre Miller, a veteran of 14 seasons and more than a thousand games in the NBA, summed it up best.
“I think everybody played like they wanted to go home,” he said.
Miller and the Nuggets came out on the losing end of a triple-overtime battle on Sunday in the battle of the two hottest teams in the NBA. The Celtics’ survived, extending their win streak to seven games...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
If Celtics coach Doc Rivers elected to give Pierce and Garnett a night off when the team travels to Charlotte for the tail end of a back-to-back on Monday, he could be forgiven (heck, with no national TV broadcast...
Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo may be out for the season with a torn ACL, but that doesn't mean he's gonna just sit at home.
Rondo has stay involved with the Celtics,
11 a.m. ET: Just when it seemed like things could not get any weirder for the Celtics, they upped the ante. Fresh off a two-day break thanks to the weekend’s snowstorm, the Celtics survived a three-overtime slugfest with the Nuggets on Sunday. They then promptly hit the road for a matchup in Charlotte on Monday night.
If the Celtics (27-23) have anything left in the tank, they...

The Boston Celtics won their seventh straight game Sunday, this one a triple overtime epic against the Denver Nuggets. It was another bar fight for a Celtics team that has become accustomed to them over the past two seasons. Even in the wake of that game, the major national story remains the same...
On Monday night the Celtics were in Charlotte for their second of back-to-back games. The Celtics extended their win streak to 7 on Sunday in a triple overtime victory against the Nuggets. Looking ahead many saw this game as an easy win but that changed drastically after the three overtime game Sunday. The Celtics ran out of gas in the fourth and fell victim to the trap game 94-91...
Clearly, that was how the winning streak was meant to end, at the hands of the Charlotte Bobcats, with Byron Mullens feigning dominance, after a final-minute four-point lead disappeared and Ramon Sessions hit a game-winning jumper and Paul Pierce — who clearly, in all his OG-ness, would have drilled that 3-pointer Sunday night — came up short while Avery Bradley missed Boston’s...
This baby loves the slop, eats it up. Eats the slop, born to slop…
How the hell do you capture the true essence of tonight’s victory? The Celtics stunk less?
Screw that, I’m going to channel my inner grit-and-balls and put a positive spin on this mess. The Celtics scratched and clawed their way back from miserable 2nd and 3rd quarters to beat Chicago, 71-69. A 7 point 4th quarter...
The Celtics needed three overtimes, but managed to get their seventh win in a row, with a 118-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the TD Garden. Denver had come into the game having won nine in a row themselves.
The Celtics were paced by the “old” guys, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry, who all logged big minutes, and the Celtics play on the road in Charlotte tonight...
