Without Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudamire, the New York Knicks (11-15) and their budding star Jeremy Lin will try to prevent the Lakers (15-11) from continuing their 5-game winning streak at the Madison Square Garden. Rising star, veteran superstar or not, it's a daunting task for anybody without the available help of other star quality players to stop a fully-healthy Lakers from doing what they want to do. But that's exactly what Lin is facing tonight.The Lakers are coming off of their impressive overtime thriller win against the Celtics in Boston. The win improves their record in this nearly-finished 6-game trek outside of Los Angeles to 2-2 and their overall road record for the season at 4-9. They'll need to beat the Knicks and the Raptors on Sunday to make this long road trip more successful than most people expect, but more importantly, to give them the confidence they need to improve better as a team towards the rest of this shortened season.
