The 6-5 Guard from Albany, Georgia Lavor Postell, attended St. John’s before he was a bust with the Knicks. I guess he was drafted too late to be a “bust”, but he was another Knicks draft pick that led them to nowhere. As a Sophomore Postell starting racking up minutes at  St. John’s, and contributed 9 ppg and 5.1 rpg. The next season he averaged double digits with 13.1 ppg shooting 41.4% from  the magical 3 point land. As a Senior Postell put up 14.3 ppg and nearly 7 rpg.  Postell went into the 2000 NBA Draft and was taken 10th overall…in the 2nd round. As a rookie Postell averaged 6.5 mpg and scored 2.3 ppg. The next season Postell had a career high 4 ppg. And his final season in 2003 Postell got a career high 8 mpg and only put up 3.6 ppg. But despite his stats he still has a highlight tape?

The next year Postell went to the D-League. He couldn’t make it back to the A-League, and then went to play basketball in Italy. Now I believe he has his own agency, LP & Company Sports and Entertainment Agency.

Postell’s career stats were 7.3 mpg, 3.2 ppg, ,7 rpg, and shot 33% from the field.

I wonder what the Knicks would have been like if they stole Michael Redd instead of Postell in that draft slot.
