The 7ft Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje is from Ede, Cameroon. In college Ruben played 4 years at Georgetown from ’97-’01. His best season was his Junior year when he averaged nearly 13 ppg, 8 rpg, 2.5 bpg in 26 mpg. In his career with the Hoyas he averaged 9.6 ppg, 7 rpg, and 2.5 bpg. Boumtje-Boumtje is one of the best shot blockers Georgetown has seen behind Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, and Dikembe Mutombo.

With the 50th pick of the 2001 NBA Draft the Portland Trailblazers selected Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje. Ruben would go on to play 3 seasons with the Trailblazers. In his rookie season he played a career high 33 games and averaged 1.2 ppg with 1.6 rpg. In his second season he attempted 1 shot in 2 games….and missed. In his third season he played in 9 games and shot the ball 5 times, which 5x more than he shot the year before. This time he was able to make one. In his career with the Trailblazers he averaged 1 ppg, 1.3 rpg, and .04 bpg.

In 2004 the Trailblazers packaged Ruben with Jeff McInnis and traded them away for airport’s favorite Darius Miles. He never ended suiting up with the Cavs. In 2005 he was supposed to sign with the Orlando Magic but that didn’t end up happening either. Ruben ended up going overseas and played in Europe.

RB-B has a fantastic European resume. Boumtje-Boumtje played in Greece for Panellinios in 2005–2006, in 2007 he played for ALBA Berlin in Germany. Then for 3 years he played for the EWE Baskets in Germany, they won the championship in 2009. Currently at the age of 33, he is still in Germany playing for the Artland Dragons.
