DeMar DeRozan’s dad was watching him live on Wednesday night, so a little extra pressure was added to the swingman out of USC. He responded well, by having one of his best games of the year, scoring 25 points on 50% shooting, while drilling 4 three-pointers.
Unfortunately, DeRozan’s stroke wasn’t enough to carry the Raptors to a victory, with the Raps ultimately losing 105-99 on the first night of their season long 7 game homestand. The Raps hung tight throughout the whole game, but didn’t have enough in the tank down the stretch to pull out a win.
Jerryd Bayless left the game with what appears to be a re-aggravation of his previous ankle injury, but hopefully he isn’t sidelined long. Bayless was just starting to play well, and it’s unfortunate to see him hurt again.

I don’t believe in this ‘smaller line-up’ the Toronto Raptors have been using lately, starting two point guards, shifting DeMar DeRozan and James Johnson out of their natural positions. The Raps usually get out-matched by a team with size, and ultimately takes a toll on the players bodies.
