Found October 21, 2012 on Celtics Town:
I don’t know who Chris Copeland is, but I sincerely hope there is only one of him in the NBA, or the Celtics are going have their hands full defensively much more often than we would like.Copeland ripped apart the Celtics again, dropping 34 points on a variety of defenders. Most of his points came off pick and roll cuts and backdoor cuts, as well as a variety of threes from progressively deeper and deeper. It was, frankly, disturbing.Fortunately, after a very slow start, the Celtics surged back in the second and fourth quarters, bringing the game close in the second and blowing it open in the fourth. Many points were had, hilarity ensued when Fab Melo took the court and airballed everything into oblivion, but when the dust settled, the Celtics improved to 3-4 in the preseason.I mentioned in an earlier recap my distaste for people who don’t believe preseason games mean anything. Originally, I meant to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but I really do believe we can learn things from prese...

Celtics Locker Room Report: Jeff Green’s Game Continues to Expand as Regular Season Arrives

As Jeff Green’s first preseason with the Celtics came to a close Sunday night at the TD Garden, there was no mistaking him for the player who struggled to establish a role two years ago. The reinvigorated Green has drawn comparisons to James Worthy throughout the offseason and even received “Much respect” from the man [...]

Stephon Marbury Offered Nearly $1 Million In “Hush Money” To Personal Chef

Stephon Marbury certainly had an interesting run in the NBA, particularly known for his scoring ability. The guard averaged over 19 points and 7 assists per game over his 13 year career before going to play ball overseas in China. He was definitely a personality, and some would call him a chemistry killer. Now, it looks like there are bigger issues on his plate than just being called...

On Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo and the way the media shapes our understanding of professional athletes

This story isn’t meant to be primarily about Ray Allen, though he will stand as the prominent example in an inner debate I’m having with regards to a media phenomenon. My theory: Our views of athletes are distorted by the amount of time (and amount of friendliness with which) they speak to the media. Because Allen spent 15 minutes before every game holding court with reporters...
