I'll keep this short and sweet so we can all go watch the Super Bowl.   The Celtics built an 8 point first quarter lead... which was also the spread at the half and after the third quarter.  But the C's pulled away in the 4th behind 10 points in the quarter from Paul Pierce and 8 from Kevin Garnett.  98-80 was the final. Memphis helped by forgetting that the goal of the game was putting the ball IN the basket.  The Grizzlies shot 36.8%.  The Celtics defense had a hand in that, but the Grizz also missed some makeable shots.  Other quick notes:  KG had 24 and 9 rebounds.  Pierce had 21, 6, & 6. KG hit another 3... his third straight game with a 3 Rajon Rondo had 14 assists... 10 in the first half. JaJuan Johnson played a season high 19 minutes for him, scoring 10 points on 5-8 shooting.  Chris Wilcox was perfect (5-5 fg, 2-2 ft) to give the C's 12 points and 5 rebounds in 11 minutes.  Box Score That it.  Go watch football now.  I know not all ...

Kevin Garnett: "I can shoot 3's"

Kevin Garnett hit another 3 pointer in today's victory, so you knew he was going to be asked about it afterwards. Here's is KG's rant via Jessica Camerato's twitter: "I can shoot 3's" pt 1: "Listen, I can shoot 3's. Cut this, alright? Because I don't want anymore questions about this. I can shoot 3's. You all are acting like I'm...

Your Morning Dump... Where Bird accepts Pierce into his flock

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “He had some great years in Boston — a few when the team was down, and maybe that hurt him a little bit,” Bird said. “But he’s a great scorer, and he won a championship, so he’s right there with...

Boston Celtics Paul Pierce Gets Bashed By TA

Once again Red’s Army (unbelievable Celtics site as many of you know) found a great story about old friend Tony Allen blasting former teammate Paul Pierce. The comments were from an interview with CSNNE’s Jessica Camerato. Here they are: “When I was over here, that was the only way that I could get on the court,“ Allen told CSNNE.com prior to the Celtics 98-80 win...

Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett Makes Some Noise With 3s

The Boston Celtics got a huge game from one Kevin Garnett during their Sunday romp of the Grizzlies. The “Big Ticket” continued to show there is plenty of life in his game as he went for 24 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Although KG got a lot of his points the signature KG way by hitting his jump shot and getting deep in the paint for some solid post moves...

Despite Rajon Rondo's black eye, Celtics get best of Knicks

Expecting anything but drama in this game would have been foolish as the Boston Celtics outlast the Knicks 91-89. This game was a nail-biter as the officials seemed to control the outcome all around. First Paul Pierce made a huge three pointer as the shot clock went off that ended up not counting, then Landry Fields air balled the go ahead three, next Pierce made one of two free...

Wolves haven't been so good so late since KG

MINNEAPOLIS The last time the Timberwolves were .500 or better this late in the season was in 2006-07, when Minnesota was 22-22. To put it into perspective, Kevin Garnett was still a Timberwolf, not a Celtic. Kevin Love, currently the longest-tenured Wolves player on the Wolves' roster, was a senior at Lake Oswego High School in Oregon. Indeed, it's been a long five years...
