Found April 28, 2013 on Red's Army:
Behind a huge OT from Jason Terry, some Truth heroics and Brandon Bass’ tough defense on ‘Melo, Celts avoid the sweep today. After watching a double-digit lead vanish (what is else is new), the C’s fought through some awful officiating, terrible offense of their own and beat the Knicks 97-90 in OT. Without JR Smith, the Knicks struggled to find much of an offense, until late in the 3rd when Ray Felton got hot. Felton outscored the C’s all by himself in the 3rd, 16-14. It was yet another 12 minutes of stinky bball from Boston that fans have seen over much of this season. Felton’s trey at the end of the 3rd closed the gap and NY was down 68-65. Knicks went on a 7-2 run over the last 4 mins. of regulation, and we were headed to OT. That’s where Jet notched 9 points on 3 of 3 shooting and nailed 2 big free-throws to ice it. Boston now travels back to the Rotten Apple for game 5 on Wednesday night. Despite how atrocious some of the play has been this series, I’m proud of this year’s squa...

So was signing Jason Terry worth it?

When the Celtics acquired Jason Terry last July, I believe the one comment I heard more than any other was "he can win you a playoff game."  Well, on Sunday afternoon he did just that: Terry scored the Celtics final 9 points in the 97-90 OT Game 4 victory, preventing them from suffering a disastrous collapse and hiding the fact that once again Boston was horrible offensively...

Your Morning Dump… Where I say nice things about Jason “Sunshine” Terry

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Terry was signed with the express purpose of hitting open 3-pointers, adding energy, and hitting significant shots in the postseason. But before Game 4, Terry was best known in this series for getting beat on defense...

Jason Terry Finally Delivers Clutch Performance Celtics Have Been Waiting on for So Long

BOSTON – Jason Terry has a summer job waiting for him whenever the NBA season ends. The veteran guard, who has expressed a desire to coach in the NBA once he is finished playing, has an AAU coaching gig awaiting him. As great as that experience would be for his second career, for now Terry is not ready to say goodbye to his first career. Nor is he ready to say goodbye to this season...

Celtics stay alive with Game 4 win

Jason Terry scored Boston's last nine points and the Celtics weathered a strong comeback by the New York Knicks, avoiding a sweep with a 97-90 overtime win on Sunday. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 29 points as they forced a fifth game in the series, but it was Terry who provided the finishing touches. In Game 3, he had been elbowed by J.R. Smith, and the NBA suspended the...

Brandon Bass stepping his game up in the playoffs

It's funny how these things work. You have a subpar regular season, but then step up your game when it counts the most and the previous 6 months are forgotten. Doc Rivers for one has appreciated playoff Bass. Celtics coach Doc Rivers called forward Brandon Bass "the star of the game" for his defense on Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. Bass limited Anthony to 10-of-35...

Jason Terry Hints that Kevin Garnett is Retiring

The Boston Celtics were able to keep their playoffs alive yesterday by defeating the New York Knicks 97-90 in overtime to bring the series to a 3-1 Knicks lead. While many doubt the chances of the Celtics actually coming back to win the series, it was nice to see the team still fight for their pride at home when many had already written them off. Jason Terry played a key role...

J.R. Smith Ejected After Elbow To Jason Terry (Video)

In a game where the New York Knicks had a sizable lead on the Boston Celtics during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals on Friday, it seemed senseless when J.R. Smith dished an intentional elbow on Jason Terry during the fourth quarter and thus was ejected. Yes, it can be debated if this was truly [...]The post J.R. Smith Ejected After Elbow To Jason Terry (Video) appeared...

Garden Report: Celtics Live to Fight Another Day

The Celtics had a really strong first half (where they outscored the Knicks 54-35), but had their usual second half meltdown and were forced to go to OT and rely on Jason Terry (18 pts, 7-10 FG and the last nine points) to win Game 4 97-90 and force Game 5.  Jared Weiss, Jimmy Toscano and Evans Clinchy break down the action.

5 Things Celtics must do to win tonight - Game 4

Well, here we are, Game 4. The game that could be this team's last of the year. The game that could be KG's last game as a Celtic. If it is, they should make it a good one. Without further ado, here are tonight's five things: 5. MORE SHOTS FOR BASS: In the Game Three loss, Brandon Bass shot just 1/5 from the field. I'm shocked that this team only gave him 5 attempts...

(VIDEO) J.R. Smith Hits Jason Terry With A Vicious Elbow

The Knicks/Celtics game last night never really felt like a game. Once again, the Celtics struggled to score the basketball while the Knicks rain 3-pointers. The highlight of the night though was in the forth quarter when J.R. Smith threw a vicious elbow at Jason Terry. Smith had the ball in the corner, Terry swiped at it, Smith didn’t like that, and retaliated with a UFC quality...

Photo Gallery: Celtics-Knicks

Celtics avoided elimination yesterday with a 97-90 OT win over the Knicks. Boston will now travel back to New York & get ready for Game 5 on Wednesday night. The NBA has not yet announced a start time. Enjoy a gallery of pics & GIFs from yesterday’s game via my friends over at HoopChina. It includes a great pic of an elated young fan who received Jason Terry’s game kicks after the win.

JR Smith suspended for Game 4

ESPN: New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been suspended for Game 4 of the Knicks-Celtics playoff series for throwing an elbow that struck the chin of Boston's Jason Terry in Game 3, the NBA announced Saturday night. In a statement, the NBA said it suspended Smith for "throwing an elbow and striking the chin" of Terry. Smith said on Friday he was trying to draw...

Boston Celtics Force Game 5 in a Dogfight with New York Knicks

BOSTON --  In a game they had to have, the Boston Celtics came out with a passion and aggression        that we had not seen from them in the playoffs thus far.  They beat the New York Knicks 97-90 in game four of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Sunday.   With J.R. Smith suspended for hitting Jason Terry in the face with his elbow in game three, New York found themselves...

New York Knicks bury Boston Celtics 90-76, take three game series lead

.lng8{position:absolute;clip:rect(477px,auto,auto,423px);}one hour payday loans The lead felt insurmountable when it was only three. In my miserable pessimism I’m not sure when the actual backbreaker came, but by the time the Knicks lead stretched to 18 there was no doubt what the outcome would be. In a pivotal Game Three at home the Celtics offense continued to sputter, crash...
