Cavs come into Boston and end their 10-game losing streak tonight at the expense of the C’s. I’ll cut Boston the obvious slack, as they’re missing KG & Truth, but this was just more of the same: gave up huge numbers to a slightly above-average player (TristanThompson 29 pts & 17 rebs) got clobbered in the paint (52 points by the Cavs) and on the boards, missed free-throws, and made a too little too late run in the 4th. Cavs beat Boston 97-91. Avery Bradley left the game with Eddie Lacerte in the 4th, but said afterwards the injury is not related to his shoulder surgery-he bruised his collarbone. Still, nothing C’s fans want to hear right now. I’m sick with a pretty nasty cold, so this will be a short recap tonight folks. Let’s hope P and Ticket both come back Sunday, and the C’s can start to build some type of momentum for the playoffs. The Green: Shavlik Randolph scored a career-high 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting to go with 7 boards in a foul plagued performance Jeff Green ...

Your Morning Dump… Where Avery Bradley’s bruised collarbone will be fine

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “[Irving] went to the basket, came down, and elbowed me right on my collarbone. It’s just a little swollen,” Bradley said, later adding, “It hurts, but I’ll be fine. I get injured all the time. I’ll...

Doc on Jeff Green starting: “Jeff has earned that”

Jeff Green has been all smiles since March hitDoc Rivers spoke in practice about Green’s starting gig once KG gets back, saying that he has wanted to start the Georgetown product for quite some time, but his play has only recently justified that decision (via ESPN Boston):“I was hoping (to start Green consistently at some point),” Rivers said. “That was my intention. We weren’t...

Bradley Survives Injury Scare As Short-Handed Celtics Lose To Cavs

Cavs 97, Celtics 91 Another lackluster performance from the Celtics did not affect their standing in the playoff race as the Bucks also lost on Friday night, but it seems as though the playoffs can’t come soon enough for this aging team. Paul Pierce (ankle/rest) and Kevin Garnett (ankle/rest) were both absent during Boston’s home game against the Cavaliers, and the rest of the...

Celtics-Cavaliers Live: Jeff Green, Celts Look for Much Less Exciting Win Against Cleveland

8 a.m. ET: The last time the Celtics and Cavaliers met up, Jeff Green provided a thrilling ending. The Celtics would probably prefer if things were not so exciting this time. Having snapped their two-game losing streak with a victory over the Pistons on Wednesday, the Celtics (39-36) are back in action. Their opponent is the Cavs (22-52), who are having a forgettable season despite...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Wizards 4/7

After a couple weeks of shame, the Celtics got hot tonight and cruised by the Wizards for a 107-96 victory. This kinda game was inevitable. Recently, the C's have been playing down to their competition. But in this one, things were different. Let's hope they keep this kind of play up. Tonight's USOTN goes to the surprisingly bad performance of Jeff Green. Now I'm...

Jeff Green and Paul Pierce work together to create mismatches for opponents

Jeff Green and Paul Pierce have been working well together on offense.Doc Rivers recently told the media that during the playoffs, he is considering using a lineup that includes Paul Pierce and Jeff Green both starting at shooting guard and small forward. This was obviously a revelation, since what would presumably be the playoff starting lineup (Bradley-Pierce-Green-Bass-Garnett...

Celtics's Struggles Continue; As The Cavs End Theirs

With a game like this, following a losing skid that has seen the Celtics drop 7 of their past 10 game, it would be easy to blame the injuries to Garnett or any other member of this decimated team but these recent losses are starting to become a cause for concern. The team is limping towards the playoffs and is in danger of losing its position in the seeding. To make matters worse...

Cavaliers-Celtics Preview

Jeff Green has made quite a name for himself while helping fill in for the injured Kevin Garnett. He may need to step up even more with Paul Pierce banged up, too. Green looks to build on another terrific effort as the playoff-bound Boston Celtics host the Cleveland Cavaliers, who try to avoid an 11th consecutive loss Friday night. Green, who burst onto the scene with a career...

Comments from the Other Side - Pistons 4/3

It's always sad for me to see fans rooting for a loss in order to tank for a better draft choice.  I've never quite been able to get to the point where I want my team to lose, for any reason.   I can understand other fans not liking Tommy's Celtics homerism, but to wish harm on him is pretty classless.  The guy has 10 rings as both player and coach and has forgotten...

Jeff Green, Shavlik Randolph Will Be the X-Factors Emerging Into the Celtics Playoffs

Photo by Brian Babineau/NBAE via Getty Images The Boston Celtics’ forthcoming future ultimately weighs on the remaining games on their schedule, and specifically how the newcomers and veterans on the team can collaborate to flash off the true Celtic green. Whether Kevin Garnett returns to the line up remains to be at question, but what is known is the camaraderie and chemistry...

Random Thoughts on News out of Practice

First off, it was great to hear that the whole team, Rajon Rondo, Sully, and KG included were on the court today as the Celtics honored members of the military.  The photo above shows members of the Air Force presenting a flag that was flown in the Middle East to Doc and the team. Second, Paul Pierce didn't practice today, but it wasn't related to the personal reasons that...

Random Thoughts on Reports out of Practice

Photo courtesy of @ESPNForsberg There is some encouraging news out of practice today. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett participated in practice today with Doc saying that there were no restrictions on either one of them. But, of course, the news couldn't be all good, could it? Avery Bradley sat out practice with a sore collarbone that was injured when Kyrie Irving caught...

Celtics beat Wizards 107 to 96 in KG Return

The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards 107 to 96 tonight at the TD Garden. Pierce and Garnett both returned to the lineup, which gave the entire team a nice boost. This win was a full team win, as 5 players scored in double figures and 3 more almost did. Flat-out the Wizards were no match for the Celtics talent. KG was sharp in his return to the court, but the leader...
