James, Wade, Bosh. Pierce. Allen. Garnett. Harden. Howard. TBD? All good things come in Big 3's, right? According to the Houston Chronicle, Dwight Howard asked Rockets GM Daryl Morey during the more than 2 12 hour meeting Sunday night if he would be able to offer a second max contract this free agency season. (James Harden is already currently under the maximum deal). The Chronicle reports: "Parsons and James Harden attended the meeting with Kevin McHale handling many of the questions about the teams potential and how Howard would be used in a retooled offense. Yao Ming talked from China via Skype and Dikembe Mutombo made a video presentation. Rockets general manager Daryl Morey discussed not only the plans going forward, but was also asked about how the Rockets were built to position themselves to be able to offer a second max contract." That third person could come in the form of current Hawks star Josh Smith, who also happens to be a childhood AAU teammate of Howard. According to the Chronicle, Smith was expected to meet with the Rockets on Monday. Earlier in the day, the Rockets traded center Thomas Robinson to the Blazers, it seems, to eliminate any doubt andor competition from Howard's perspective.
