According to a Yahoo! Sports article, former Chicago Bulls coach and current USC men's basketball coach Tim Floyd is reportedly under investigation for paying benefits to an associate of O.J. Mayo, who played for USC in the 07-08 season before being drafted third overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. The investigation centers around the statements of Louis Johnson, a former confidant of Mayo's. The link I've provided leads to Charles Robinson and Jason Cole's article that explains the details and includes a detailed description of Johnson's account of what happened.USC was already under investigation regarding their football and men's basketball programs, and, if these allegations are true, they will undoubtedly lead to severe sanctions, if not jail time, for Floyd. The current investigation is being conducted by the NCAA, FBI, IRS, and U.S. Attorney's Office.Floyd coached the Bulls from 1998 to 2002, compiling a 49-190 record for the franchise during their struggles with rebuilding after the Phil Jackson dynasty ended. He was replaced by Bill Cartwright 25 games into the 2001-2002 season. He coached the New Orleans Hornets the following season, going 41-41 and losing in seven games during the first round of the playoffs.
