The latest proposal to get Kobe Bryant to play in Italy is a tournament named after the Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard.
According to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the owner of Virtus Bologna is attempting to organize a three-game tournament called the "Kobe Cup."
Virtus Bologna owner Claudio Sabatini has presented Bryant with numerous offers to play for his team, included one deal that would reportedly pay him more than $3 million for a 10-game stint.
The Kobe Cup would be played in three Italian cities - Bologna, Milan and Rome - and feature games with two 12-minute quarters.
Sabatini wants to draw a foreign team into the event to help him sell television rights abroad.
