Jerry Sloan has told the Milwaukee Bucks that he is not interested in their head coaching vacancy, according to a report by NBA.com. Sloan confirmed to FOX Sports on Monday that Milwaukee general manager John Hammond came last week to his farm outside McLeansboro, Ill., along with assistant general manager Jeff Weltman and director of scouting Billy McKinney. When asked by FOX Sports if felt he was seriously in the mix for the job, Sloan responded by saying, "You'd have to ask them." Sloan, 71, is third all-time with 1,221 wins in 26 seasons as an NBA head coach. Inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009, Sloan has repeatedly turned down offers to return to coaching since resigning as coach of the Utah Jazz in Feb. 2011. The Bucks have also interviewed former NBA coach Nate McMillan, Lakers assistant Steve Clifford and Rockets assistants Kelvin Sampson and J.B. Bickerstaff for the job vacated when the team didn't offer Jim Boylan a contract for next season. Follow Andrew Gruman on Twitter.

Jerry Sloan Turns Down Bucks

Coaching legend Jerry Sloan has turned down the Milwaukee Bucks, saying through his agent that he’s not looking for a rebuilding project, but will continue to keep his ears open for the right job. Blah blah, old hat. Above, that’s Jerry trying to split a double team of Wilt Chamberlain and one of the Grateful Dead. I love these old pictures of Jerry. He just looks like the toughest...

Sloan Not Interested In Coaching Bucks

Jerry Sloan is not interested in taking the Milwaukee Bucks’ vacant head coaching position. Sloan met with Bucks officials last week. "The bottom line is, Jerry doesn't really feel it's the right fit for him right now," Keith Glass, Sloan’s agent, said on Thursday. "He's interested (in coaching again). He's in Chicago now watching the Pre-Draft...

Bucks Eye Jerry Sloan

Jerry Sloan (who by all accounts was a super badass on the court back in the day) interviewed with the Milwaukee Bucks and is being considered for their coaching vacancy. He’s also been recently linked to the Bobcats, though has taken himself out of the running. Because the only thing that beats working for Michael Jordan is, apparently, not working for Michael Jordan. Marc Gasol...

Sloan Could Rejoin Jazz As Consultant

Jerry Sloan could return to the Utah Jazz as a consultant, two years after he resigned as coach. "If there’s something out there that’s right for both parties, we would welcome a relationship with Jerry," Jazz president Randy Rigby said. "The Utah Jazz have great love and respect for him." Sloan wouldn’t want to be seen as getting in the way of Tyrone Corbin...

Larry Drew Will Interview For Bucks' Head Coaching Job Monday

Larry Drew will interview for the Milwaukee Bucks' head coaching vacancy on Monday and is receiving interest from a second team. The Bucks called Danny Ferry about speaking with Drew, who is still under contract with the Atlanta Hawks until June 30, and they were granted permission. “I’ve moved on from the situation,” Drew said. “We had a very professional talk just...

Kings Staying in Sactown Until They’re Not

In the story that just won’t die, the league’s owners voted yesterday to reject the Kings’ proposed move to Seattle…which reaffirmed last month’s unanimous vote to do just that. Which means the Kings will stay put. Until someone says they won’t. And then someone will make a bigger offer. And then we’ll have to vote again. But they’ll stay. Or maybe not. Whatever jerks...
