The Knicks are in need of some size and rebounding in the front court, and may have found a likely target.
ESPN New York is reporting that the Knicks are preparing to make an offer to Elton Brand. The Knicks have reportedly targeted Brand since free agency began.
Brand is most likely the best available big man at the price the Knicks are prepared to pay, and would bring some insurance in case Amar’e Stoudemire gets injured early on.
Brand, 34, has averaged 17.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in his 14-year career. If the Knicks do sign Brand, what does that mean for Kenyon Martin.

So… The Knicks apparently didn’t learn about signing guys ready for social security. Okay, that’s fine. In their defense with the money they have left over who else can they go after, right?
The Knicks and Brand have mutual interest in each other according to Jared Zwerling. Zwerling explains in his tweets that Brand wants to join a winner and that he is also a native of New...

The Knicks went into last season with a roster full of one-way specialists. While this strategy worked extremely well in spurts for the Knicks, the ramifications of such players came full circle in the playoffs. The amount of limited players on the Knicks team also made it difficult for Mike Woodson to set a rotation. Whether he was searching for offense or defense...
After a disappointing playoff exit to the Pacers, die-hard Knicks fans will look to the Las Vegas Summer league to turn the page into another season. This year the Summer League will feature a new format in which a champion will be crowned. While this is irrelevant to most people, the real purpose of the summer league is to asses young talent, and possibly find a diamond in the rough...
Forget the fact that Nate Robinson was Knick at one point in his career; forget the fact that he played himself out of town with his immature game. Try to remember the Nate of this past season that helped an injury depleted Bulls team in the playoffs. Nate Robinson showed all of us heart and soul for those 2 weeks during the playoffs. He is what the doctor ordered for the 13/14 Knicks...

With the 2013 NBA free agency period beginning, the New York Knicks are hoping to address their two most glaring issues, a backup guard and a backup big man. The Knicks may have already found a valuable backup guard in the draft by selecting Tim Hardaway Jr., the son of a former Knick nemesis. Although the Knicks also were able to sign undrafted free agency C...
Quentin Richardson was born on the 13th (in April 1980), but nobody ever would say this 13-year veteran is unlucky.
Richardson was waived by the Orlando Magic last fall but stood to collect the final two years and 5.4 million on his contract. And money for nothing again came the shooting guards way Monday.
Richardson, 33, was the recipient of what one NBA executive calls the Magic...
Congratulations to New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire on his recent marriage to his beautiful wife Alexis, as they married for the second time (Officially married December 12th.) The twosome held a luxurious private ceremony with close friends and family in Miami. Here’s an inside look from their wedding weekend below. Amar’e looked suave in his Calvin Klein Suit, as...
Sebastian Telfair is a point guard from Brooklyn. He’s likely love to return to New York if he’s given the chance. With the Nets in Brooklyn, he could have the opportunity to play for his home town team. However, the New York Knicks have a bigger need at point guard. Could Telfair be the cost effective signing [...]

Free agent forward Kevin Martin is signing with the Timberwolves, sources say. The deal will be for 4 years and around $30 million, and leaves the Thunder with even less on their squad from the “Here’s James Harden for nothing!” decision. Que sera.
By the way, there’s a 90% chance I thought this was Kenyon Martin when I first heard it. And then a 70% chance I thought it was...
J.R. Smith and the New York Knicks are moving closer to a new contract.
Smith was the NBA's 6th Man of the Year last season.
Smith opted out of his contract for 13-14 in search of a longer term deal.
This summer you aren’t going to be turning heads by rocking a Carmelo Anthony jersey. That’s as exciting as period panties. You want stand out among the most random of Hoopster Nation? Rock a yellow Maryland Len Bias jersey like this one sent in by @KSchulman.
The reason this Len Bias jersey is so dope is that Len Bias was like a magical unicorn full of potential (but not a hot...
The Magic are reportedly in the running to sign Mavericks forward Brandan Wright, according to Tim McMahon of ESPN Dallas. McMahon reports the Mavericks hope to retain Wright, but the Hawks, Pistons, Raptors and Knicks have also expressed interest in the former eighth overall pick.
Wright has bounced around several teams, but has found some footing with the Mavericks. He averaged...
Michigan State defensive tackle commit Enoch Smith Jr. (Chicago Mount Carmel, Ill.) talks about who he's recruiting in Oregon at The Opening and back at home in Chicago. He also lets us know what his pitch is to these players.
All-world high school prospect spends a controversial year in So-Cal before eventually winding up in the Great White North.
Didn't the Minnesota Timberwolves enact this scenario once this week already?
Nine more days of free-agent negotiations after Monday mean there's a long road to adding shooting guard O.J. Mayo to a roster that now includes Shabazz Muhammad, introduced...
The Dallas Mavericks were one of several teams to contact the agent for Andrew Bynum during the opening hours of free agency.
Bynum is expected to be healthy for the start of training camp, but any team that signs him will want to do their own thorough medical evaluation.
Bynum missed the entire 12-13 NBA season following a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers.
