Gilbert Arenas held a private workout that reportedly drew at least one very interested observer. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Los Angeles Lakers attended the workout by the free-agent guard. The website, citing two sources familiar with the workout, reported that Arenas got positive reviews and moved well. The Lakers are seeking to add more depth and scoring to their backcourt. Arenas was waived during the preseason by the Orlando Magic, who used the newly implemented amnesty clause do release the former high-scoring guard. He reportedly underwent platelet-rich plasma therapy on his balky right knee, a procedure similar to one Lakers star Kobe Bryant had in Germany. Arenas appeared in a combined 70 games with the Washington Wizards and Orlando last season, averaging 10 points and 3.9 assists.
