If the NBA league office is a parent, it’s the kind of parent who tells the kid, “This hurts me more than it hurts you.” Gerald Wallace is still out $10,000, though. The Celtics veteran was fined this week for uttering an expletive after Boston’s lopsided loss to Houston. Wallace told reporters how the fine was handed out. “They read to me what I said,” Wallace said, “and then just told me, ‘OK then, well, we understand you’re having a rough season. Hope your season gets better,’ and hung up the phone.” A rough season is correct. The Celtics started off 0-4 — worse than even their low preseason expectations — but then ripped off four wins in a row, including a victory in Miami over the defending champion Heat. There were murmurs that this team could be pretty decent, and could be making its way — until the Celtics then l

Rumor: Celtics would consider dealing Wallace, Humphries for Amar’e

Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report/Turner Sports is the latest to offer up trade rumors involving the Celtics and Knicks. Relax, it doesn’t involve Rondo. But even if it’s not Rondo, the Celtics are still attractive for the potential of a big man swap, and according to a source close to Gang Green, they might be willing to take on what basically no other team wants: Stoudemire’s...

Rajon Rondo's befuddled reaction to stats sheet during blowout loss is fantastic (video)

To say the effort put forth by the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night during the team’s 109-85 blowout loss to the Houston Rockets was abysmal wouldn’t do justice for just how horrible the team played. The team was down 18-1 early on and 40-18 when the first quarter mercifully ended. Of course, injured and still-rehabbing […]The post Rajon Rondo befuddled reaction to stats sheet...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Spurs 11/20

Well, this loss was depressing. Tonight, the Celtics, despite putting up a great effort, fell to the Spurs, 104-93. I'm not mad that they didn't win this game, but I must say I found it tough to take. They played very well, so I expected them to come away victorious. But, I guess sometimes the effort's just not enough.Anyway, tonight's USOTN goes to the lack of playing...

Report: Celtics Would Consider Trading Humphries & Wallace for Amare

If a trade like this would happen, it is essentially swamping bad contracts for bad contracts. Nothing more, nothing less. At least from the Knicks perspective the bad contracts would be healthy enough to play full minutes. Based on my story, a source said Boston might be willing to trade for Amar'e Stoudemire and send Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace to NY. — Jared Zwerling...

Report: Celtics Willing to Trade Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries to Knicks for Amare Stoudemire

The Celtics and Knicks appear to be willing accomplices in their mutual destruction. Several days after a bogus report surfaced that the Knicks were “interested” in trading for Rajon Rondo, another report indicates the Celtics might be amenable to a deal — just not one that involves their All-Star point guard. The Knicks, who have been trying like crazy to rid themselves of...

Is Wallace, Humphries for Stoudemire a possibility?

The Knicks may be out of luck when it comes to acquiring Celtics guard Rajon Rondo from the Celtics, but according to one report, there may still be life for a trade between the two teams involving other players.
