Paul Pierce came close to tears. Kevin Garnett fought the deal to the end. But at least one player involved in the blockbuster traded between the Celtics and Nets could not have been happier to get a new address. In the early versions of the rumored traded on draft night, Nets big man Reggie Evans was reportedly headed to Boston. Evans, who is a fan favorite in Brooklyn, probably would not have enjoyed being moved. It turns out he was never part of the deal, anyway. MarShon Brooks ultimately was, which was just fine with him, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. The 24-year-old guard “communicated he wanted out” of Brooklyn even before the deal took form, Bondy reports. Couple things perhaps unknown about Nets-Celts trade: MarShon communicated he wanted out before draft, Reggie Evans was never part of it— Stefan Bondy (@NYDNInterNets) October 15, 2013 This adds some intrigue to the Celtics’ acquisition of the third-year guard. Although talented, Brooks fell out of f...

Paul Pierce went to visit the Celtics locker room before the game because of course he did

A few hours before tip off, Paul Pierce walked to the visitor's locker room to visit friends as he had done hundreds of times before. This time was different though. Tonight marked the first time Pierce would be playing against the Boston Celtics as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. While most of the team was either in the weight room or on the court when Pierce came calling...

Kevin Garnett And Paul Pierce Used To Have Erectile Dysfunction Says Newspaper Ad

I knew that brand new Brooklyn Nets Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were getting up there in age, but I had no idea that it was this bad. Guess they had problems getting up for games. [Deadspin] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Refs won’t keep Garnett from going ‘full throttle’

When the NBA invited the media to meet with the heads of its officiating staff last month the league representatives rattled off a few points of emphasis they wanted referees to focus on this season. One such point of emphasis was illegal screens and when video-clip examples were shown to the writers in attendance the first one was of Kevin Garnett being called in a game last season...

Kevin Garnett Cuts Ties With Boston, Lists His $4.85 Million Massachusetts Home

Ok, the “cutting of ties” isn’t really that intense, but as a diehard Brooklyn Nets fan this makes me very happy to see.  Newly acquired big man, leader, motivator, archangel, bad*ass, boss man, father figure, Kevin Garnett is has listed his Concord, Massachusetts mansion for $4.85 million. The house makes sense for a guy like KG, and according to Realtor: It is no surprise...

Kevin Garnett Told Brooklyn To Keep Reggie Evans

It was originally a foregone conclusion that Reggie Evans was heading to Boston in the Garnett-Pierce deal, but all of a sudden his name was pulled out. At the time nobody knew what that was all about but Kevin Garnett has decided to spill the beans. “I won’t go into specific details of what I was wanting and dislikes and everything else when it came to building the business...

LeBron on Pacers/Bulls: “There’s Tension, but There’s No Rivalries”

Are there any true rivalries left in the NBA? The closets I can think of was the Celtics-Heat but with the departure of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn, one would assume that matchup will be a lot less tense. LeBron himself spoke on rivalries and specifically the Bulls and Pacers. LeBron on Indiana/Chicago […]

Celtics emotionless for first game against Brooklyn

Staring at the computer screen with a blank look, like my state of mind right now. Empty a little bit, haven't we vented, and haven't we expressed are gratitude at great lengths for Pierce and Kevin. Emotionless? Like the faces I've see on the court in some of the preseason games this year. The sentences just will not form when I want to articulate Paul Pierce and Kevin...

Celtics Tweets of Interest: MarShon Brooks Appreciates Pats’ Win; Kelly Olynyk Celebrates Thanksgiving

The local sports talk in Boston over Columbus Day weekend has centered on the astonishing come-from-behind victories by the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox on Sunday. The Boston Bruins are just five games into the 2013-’14 regular season. Then there are the Boston Celtics who continue to work in anonymity as the preseason winds down. Currently, the Celtics are the bottom...

Thursday night at the Barclays Center a special pregame ceremony will be conducted prior to tip-off to retire the jersey of Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd. There is, however, another storyline that has captured the attention of many. The Miami Heat are coming to town, and will square off with the new-look Nets for the first time in the preseason. Wrap Up: Celtics Hold Their Own Against the Nets

Yes, Kevin Garnett didn't play. Yes, Deron Williams and Andrei Kirilenko are sidelined. But, Rajon Rondo is also sidelined and the Celtics are a very young team and new to each other. And, the Celtics stayed right with the Nets throughout the game. They came up 2 points short at the end, but this season isn't about wins and losses as much as it is about development, and...

KG "fascinated" with amount of talent on Nets roster

Since being traded to the Nets during the offseason, Kevin Garnett hasn't exactly had the most glowing things to say about coming to Brooklyn. It's no secret that Garnett did not want to leave Boston and only did so because he was leaving with Paul Pierce as the Celtics began their rebuild after the "Big Three Part 2" era. Garnett was an amazing Celtic and will...

LeBron says KG & Paul Pierce Criticized Ray Allen for Doing the Same thing They Just Did

Remember when Ray Allen left a lot of money on the table to bolt from Boston and take his talents to South Beach? Allen was destroyed by his former teammates, particularly Kevin Garnett. KG even admitted deleting Allen’s number. And remember this when they first played? The interesting thing now is the fact that Pierce […]

Comments from the Other Side - Nets 10/15

Well, the first game against Paul Pierce as a Net is in the books.  It was hard to watch him play on the other side, so I'm sure it was hard for him to play against his former team as well.  Nets fans were fairly civil towards the Celtics and their former players on the Celtics.  They still hate Courtney Lee, however.  I agree with them on one thing, though, that delay of...
