It has only been a week, but Shane Larkin is already stepping up for his new team.
The Mavericks' first-round draft pick out of Miami is doing whatever he can to help bring Dwight Howard to Dallas.
"I watched him growing up when he was in Orlando and I was in Orlando, and I am a fan," Larkin said, according to the Dallas Morning News. "I want to be the leading spokesman for this Dwight-to-Dallas campaign."
But it's going to take a monumental effort by the Dallas rookie accomplish that goal.
The Mavs are just one of five NBA teams vying for Howard's services this offseason.
The Lakers' big man is scheduled to meet with Mavs owner Mark Cuban and team superstar Dirk Nowitzki on Tuesday.
