The Thunder lost an important piece that sent them to the NBA Finals last season on Saturday night.
Oklahoma City traded James Harden to Houston according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. The Thunder received Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and "significant future draft picks." Along with Harden, the Rockets received Cole Aldridge, Lazr Hayward and Daquan Cook.
Oklahoma City decided to pull the trigger on the trade when contract talks broke down with Harden. Harden averaged 16.8 points per game last season, with 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Martin averaged 17.1 for the Rockets with 2.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
The 23-year-old Harden was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year last season and was part of the gold medal USA Olympic Basketball team.
