According to Yahoo! Sports, the San Antonio Spurs worked out Tracy McGrady who is currently seeking a guaranteed contract which he won't get with the Spurs.
McGrady is a seven-time All Star but after a strong, promising NBA career with the Raptors and Magic, he was beset with injuries which derailed his career. Last season he was with the Hawks and averaged 5.3 points, 2.1 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and shot 43% from the field in 52 games.
T-Mac is getting up in age at 33-years old, and with his history of injury (though he has been relatively injury free in recent seasons), the Spurs are best to pass on him. Not only are they set at forward spot with Stephen Jackson, and Kawhi Leonard, as mentioned before, McGrady is looking for a guaranteed contract next season. San Antonio can use that money for a center or a power forward.
Overall, this just sounds like San Antonio doing their due diligence but T-Mac just doesn't fit into what the team needs - mainly size in the paint.
What do you have to say Spurs fans about T-Mac and the Spurs?

Tracy McGrady will work out for the New York Knicks today to see if he can land a contract in the NBA this year. Mcgrady previously worked out for the San Antonio Spurs and is hoping he does not have to go over seas to play basketball this season.
Mcgrady spent last year with the Atlanta Hawks and averaged a career low 5.2 points per game. Mcgrady has been severely slowed by...
With a roster already filled with star power and quality role players, the Knicks have clearly done enough to get their fans buzzing with excitement for next season. With training weeks now just weeks away, New York also decided to invite a few young guns to camp, perhaps hoping to stash one or two for the Erie BayHawks, their D-League affiliate. The team announced the signings of...
Seven-time All-Star Tracy McGrady is still in search of an NBA team willing to give him a guaranteed contract for next season.
McGrady is hoping the New York Knicks last open guaranteed spot will be his after he works out for them Thursday. McGrady played in 24 games with the Knicks in 2010 after he was acquired from the Rockets in a cap-saving move to try and land LeBron James...
There were whispers about it during the Western Conference Finals but the talk about San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard's development and ceiling began in earnest leading up to NBA Summer League and during it. It was only two games and against lesser opponents, but Leonard showed real promise as a primary or secondary scorer. Leonard's development isn't just...
If anyone on the current San Antonio Spurs roster knows Nando De Colo, it's fellow French teammate Tony Parker, who has played on the national team with De Colo for several years.
De Colo also often backs up Parker and they see plenty of each other in practices with the national team.
While Spurs fans have awaited his arrival in San Antonio since he was drafted with...
Given that I don’t speak French and do not want to provide the opportunity for this nightmare fuel of a video to gain any stronger of a hold upon my psyche, I haven’t the foggiest of a clue what in the heck is going on in this video, nor have I thought much thought to [...]
When he isn't in the studio cutting a new single for his rap album, San Antonio Spurs' Stephen Jackson is in the gym and getting a good sweat as he prepares for the upcoming NBA season.
Jackson, who is in his home state of Texas for his basketball camp, took in some time to train with former Spur T.J. Ford in order to be sure S-Jax is good to go come training camp...
San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is certainly loved by the entire country of France so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise he is a target of satires on French TV.
Take this for example of puppet TP hitting the golf course and taking a swing. However, unlike the real Parker, this puppet isn't as coordinated like an finely tuned athlete and fails miserably.
The biggest need for the San Antonio Spurs is size. Aside from Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter, the Spurs depth at big men is scarce with an undersized DeJuan Blair (if the team doesn't trade him) and a one-dimensional player like Matt Bonner.
And with the team striking out in available big men in the offseason (Chris Kaman and Andray Blatche), the Spurs are set to work...
It happens in sports all the time; it doesn’t matter which sport it is. A player who was pretty good through his career, doesn’t realize when his career is over, and he keeps playing. We saw it with Shaquille O’Neal, and some would even say Brett Favre stayed in the NFL too long. Now, Tracy McGrady has over-stayed his welcome. McGrady, who is 33 years old, has had a great...
The offseason is usually when NBA players kick back, travel, and enjoy the down time before reporting to camp and taking on the rigors of another NBA season.
It's a time for them to unwind, relax and let their bodies heal but not for Spurs' Stephen Jackson.
Jackson has been spending his time in Texas hosting his own basketball camp for kids but he recently took time...
