Ugh, here we go again.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry will be a game-time decision vs. the Heat Wednesday night after “re-aggravating” his ankle earlier in the day.
Marcus Thompson reports that Curry landed awkwardly on the foot of Festus Ezeli during team drills. Curry has been “receiving treatment and monitoring how his ankle responds” since tweaking the ankle.
The fact that Curry is reportedly a “game-time decision,” and could possibly still play Wednesday night, is promising and does imply the injury might not be that severe. But it’s unclear how much of that is the magical workings of the formidable Warriors PR machine. Case in point: almost all updates released by the team on Andrew Bogut in the past 10 months.
Obviously there is reason to be alarmed with this news. We’ve been down this road before with Curry. This is the same ankle that’s hampered him so much in the past.
