Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Monta Ellis has agreed to a three-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks worth between 25 million-30 million, according to multiple reports. Ellis will reportedly make a minimum of 25 million over the three years, with the deal potentially rising as high as 30 million based on other free-agent agreements made by the Mavericks. FOXSportsSouthwest.com is reporting the salary is still being determined and the final result could be a sign-and-trade with Milwaukee. Acquired by the Bucks on March 12, 2012 along with Kwame Brown and Ekpe Udoh in exchange for Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson, Ellis played 103 games in Milwaukee. Starting all 82 games last season, the 27-year-old averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 41.6 percent from the field. In June, Ellis opted out of the final year of his contract that would have paid him 11 million next season. Ellis reportedly turned down a two-year extension with the Bucks worth a total of 36 million. The deal would have required and included the 11 million player option plus an additional two years. The Bucks have agreed to a three-year, 24 million contract with shooting guard O.J. Mayo. Mayo will replace Ellis in Milwaukee, while Ellis will replace Mayo in Dallas.
