Finally, some good news in Lamar Odom's life for a change.
The troubled NBA star whose career and marriage appear to be in a state of flux was in Los Angeles City Attorney's office Monday, according to multiple reports. And while he did reportedly receive quite a talking to, the good news is he won't go to jail.
According to TMZ, the meeting was to discuss the bizarre July incident in which Odom allegedly and rather calmly damaged equipment belonging to a member of the paparazzi on the streets of Hollywood.
E! Online managed to get somebody on the record, LA spokesperson Frank Mateljan telling the site that while Odom no longer faces criminal charges for the incident, the 33-year-old "was 'admonished' for his alleged behavior and the City Attorney 'advised him on how to go forward.'"
TMZ added that sources "connected with Lamar" said the former Laker and Clipper agreed to anger management counseling.
With the legal action apparently now in the rear view, civil action may still be in play. According to E! Online, the paparazzo, Stefan Saad, still has a civil suit filed in September pending against Odom. He reportedly is seeking more than $500,000 in total.
It has been a very tumultuous few months for Odom.
He was charged with driving under the influence in August, a charge to which he pleaded not guilty in October . Also in October, he reportedly met with estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, in what was described as a "last straw" for their marriage .
He also gave a bizarre interview during which he claimed he was invited to the engagement party for Kanye West and Kim Kardashian , and reports surfaced he is talking comeback with the Lakers .
Here is some of that interview.

It's looks like time is winding down for the marriage of Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian who are secretly selling their Los Angeles mansion, according to TMZ. Real estate sources tell the gossip site that Kardashian has given several San Fernando Valley realtors a pocket listing — meaning the house will not appear in the multiple listing service — in order to sell the...
Clippers forward Matt Barnes is not going to play against the Orlando Magic because of a bruised right thigh.
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said Barnes also may not play Thursday night when L.A. plays at the two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat.

Is the Kardashian curse real? I don’t know. You could certainly make the case. I think it’s clear that Lamar Odom had issues way before he became a Kardashian but the track record for men who join the clan isn’t great. His former coach Phil Jackson seems to think the marriage was a mistake. Watch […]
Rough night for Jeremy Lin. Normal night for Chris Paul.
Paul had his way with the Rockets point guard all throughout Monday night’s 137-118 Clippers win, crossing over Lin or sending him into screens time after time on his way to 23 points and 17 assists.
It was quite the offensive evening for Los Angeles, which set this season’s high-water mark for points scored in a game ...
I am on the fence with this one.
It is easy to just blame the Kardashians for all of Lamar’s issues, but Lamar had issues way before he ever met the Kardashians.
According to Phil Jackson at first he thought marrying into the Kardashian clan was a good idea, but now he is seconding guessing that decision by Lamar. Check out the video via Campusinsiders.com.

Jeremy Lin had to know this moment was coming.
Chris Paul and the L.A. Clippers hosted the Rockets in Dwight Howard’s first return to Staple Center. No it wasn’t against the Lakers, but it was a huge ballgame.

Chris Paul just abused Jeremy Lin on Monday night during the Houston Rockets-Los Angeles Clippers game in LA. On one possession in the third quarter, CP3 broke out all the tricks on Lin. He went behind his back, then to the stutter step, then between his legs, then past him for a layup. Talk about […]
