The agent for Houston Rockets big man, Donatas Motiejunas, has attempted to find a trade for the disgruntled power forward.
There’s no word if he’s been successful in finding a suitor (the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics were rumored to have interest) but he’s going to find difficulty in brokering a trade if the Rockets themselves don’t want to move Motiejunas, which appears to be the case.
Houston general manager Daryl Morey said recently that the team has received a lot of calls in regards to Motiejunas but that they simply don’t want to move him.
“Teams are opportunistic. Any player that other teams like and think is good and that’s not playing, generally that’s who you get calls on. We’ve gotten a lot of calls on Donatas because he’s a mobile 7-footer with offensive skill. He’s not a perfect player, but because he wasn’t playing, teams are like ‘Maybe we can get him on the cheap’.
