HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz levied blows at one another down the stretch of the third quarter at such a frenzied pace that there was no reason to believe a similar conclusion in the fourth period wasn't on tap. So, even after the Rockets extended to a double-digit lead on the strength of their bench, the Jazz clawed back. The Jazz responded to the Rockets' fourth-quarter run with one of their own before Houston's starters returned and delivered the knockout blow in a riveting 124-116 victory on Saturday night at Toyota Center. For a third consecutive home game, all five Rockets starters scored in double figures, with guard Jeremy Lin serving as the closer with six points during a span in which the resilient Jazz (9-9) finally succumbed. "We're very unselfish. We're moving the ball great right now," Rockets forward Chandler Parsons said. "If you look at the stat sheet, it was so balanced and I think that's how we've ...

Harden posterizes Gordon Hayward

In his first season with the Houston Rockets, James Harden is averaging over 24 points per game as the primary offensive option. His new team may not be experiencing the same success as his old team, but James Harden has shown that he is as good as many believed. Just ask Gordon Hayward: It looked like Hayward was going to be able to chase down Harden for the block, but Harden somehow...

POTD 12/1/12: James Harden on Gordon Hayward

For a wing player, Gordon Hayward is a pretty good shot blocker.  He averages a half swat per game for his career, which may not seem like much, but how many shooting guards send somebody packing once every other game?  In Saturday’s loss to the Rockets Hayward came up with his 12th denial of the young season, but his 13th would not come at the expense of #13… Admirable hustle...

Jazz-Rockets Preview

James Harden's worst offensive performance for the Houston Rockets came last week against the Utah Jazz. His latest display wasn't much better, but a home-heavy stretch could be just what he needs. Harden tries to bounce back and lead the Rockets to a fifth straight home win Saturday night against the Jazz. Harden is among the NBA's scoring leaders at 24.5 points per...

Game Preview: Jazz @ Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder (12-4) look to get their seventh win in eight games as the Utah Jazz (9-7) come to town for a fantastic Friday night game. The Jazz have won five of their last six, including two of their last three on the road, but will need a near-perfect game to keep this one close. AccuScore, unfortunately for Jazz fans, isn’t expecting anything close to “near-perfect”...
