Chandler Parsons is motivated to win a championship, but he knows his young Houston Rockets team could use some more size and experience to reach that level.
After watching the Miami Heat hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy this week, he sent a simple text message to Dwight Howard, one of the biggest free-agents this offseason.
"'Come to Houston. That could be us,'" Parson said, according to the Houston Chronicle.
But that wasn't the first time he has reached out to the Los Angeles Lakers big man. Parsons has apparently been doing his share of recruiting Howard to Houston.
"I talk to Dwight every day," Parsons told the Houston Chronicle. "I've created a relationship with him, where I feel like we're very close.
Howard has several teams vying in his services, but hasn't announced any favorites yet.
However, he's been listening to Parson's pitch and seems to be interested in what the Rockets have to offer.
"He hits me up about everything," Parsons said. "I've covered pretty much every question hes had.
"Thats the main point Ive gotten from talking to him. He wants to win. He wants to win rings. It's obvious there is no better fit, no better team or opportunity to do that than with us."
Howard joined the Lakers last summer in hopes of getting his first championship ring, but it was a disastrous season that ended with a sweep in the first-round of the playoffs.

Talking to him on a daily basis, Chandler Parsons is heavily recruiting Dwight Howard to join the Houston Rockets, but watching the Miami Heat win the 2013 NBA championship inspired him even further to get the 7-time NBA All-Star to join the Rockets core of Jeremy Lin, James Harden and Omer Asik.
According to Jonathan Feigen, Houston Chronicle:
“After watching [the Heat win the...

According to a report via Marc Stein of ESPN, the Houston Rockets have been offered a 2013 first-round pick for forward Thomas Robinson, who they acquired from the Sacramento Kings last season.
The Rockets are desperately trying to rid themselves of the former lottery pick’s $3.2 million salary to help finance a run at a top free agent like Dwight Howard.

One of the huge prizes in this year’s NBA free agency is Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard. While many assume that Clippers point guard Chris Paul is likely to return to LA, Dwight is the big name that it seems could have on another uniform by the start of the next NBA season.
While there are numerous options for Dwight (Dallas, Atlanta) it seems that the Lakers’ biggest...

Houston Rockets forward Chandler Parsons has been in contact with pending free agent Dwight Howard, but could his actions be considered tampering?
The NBA draft is drawing near and it is time for the trade hype to hit overdrive—especially where it concerns Dwight Howard.
The Houston Rockets are a good team as is. After essentially getting thrown together at the last minute they went on to win 45 games and return to the post season after a three year absence. Not bad, right? No, it wasn’t bad at all—but the Rockets...
The official start of NBA free agency is a couple of weeks away, but that hasn't stopped Chandler Parsons from trying to recruit Dwight Howard.
Plenty of speculation has already been flying around about the Houston Rockets being one of the possible destinations this off-season for free agent Dwight Howard. While GM Daryl Morey should absolutely be aggressive in pursuing Howard this summer, he also needs to be realistic about how to upgrade the Rocket roster.
