Jason Whitney The Rockets have made it known they will pursue Dwight Howard, but could they instead get Andrew Bynum?
The Houston Rockets already have the makings of a talented young team with the core of James Harden, Chandler Parsons and Omar Asik. Could they add a dynamite center to pair with this core come summer time? The Rockets have made it known they want to bring in a talented big man since the Pau Gasol trade fell through thanks to commissioner, David Stern. Now according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the Rockets will pursue not only Dwight Howard, but also Andrew Bynum.
We know Rockets will go after D12 n summer but word is they’ll pursue A Bynum if D12 unavailable. assuming AB plays well n return this yr.

Omar Asik who signed the “poison pill” deal this past offseason is making only $5 million the next two years of his deal. However, during the third year of Asik’s deal, the price rises to $15 million. Asik could be a very attractive trade chip if the Rockets were to land either Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum, if nothing else for the expiring $15 million in year three.
If the Rockets were to land either Howard or Bynum, they certainly would be the early favorites to rival the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference for supremacy. With several young trade chips to bargain with, the Rockets seem poised to piece together a championship contending team by 2014.
