Although he has revved up as an assists machine again, Ricky Rubio has been absolutely brutal with the FG%, and not in the good way. Last night, he shot for 9 points on 3 of 13 and added 4 rebounds, 11 assists, and 3 steals. He is barely shooting above 30% for the year. He shot a little better last season, but still less than 36%. Last night marked the first time he took more than 9 attempts all season. If you can flip him for a better piece, I would do that, but many leagues value assists higher than other stats, so you may have to take your lumps. And speaking of taking lumps, if you don’t get the reference in the title of today’s post, do yourself a favor and educate yourself (not work safe if your work frowns on extensive gore). Roy Hibbert – I am loving what I am seeing from Hibbert right now. He came out of the doors with 18 points, 14 rebounds, an assist, 2 steals and 5 blocks! He even too a three (and missed it). Reggie Evans – He has been a great source for rebounds, but not much else. Last night, he actually scored 10 to go with 14 boards and a block. He’s averaging 7 points per game this month, which is, you know, basically twice what he has done all season. John Wall – He is playing like a superstar, by which I mean although he produced 21 points, 5 rebounds, 9 dimes and a block, he also had 6 turnovers. He is averaging more than 5 over the past 5 games. Eric Bledsoe – This guy is really establishing himself as a guard to own, maybe even after Chris Paul returns. Bledsoe had 27 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 6 steals and 3 blocks. He also made 2 of 4 from downtown. Tyson Chandler – After three consecutive games of 20 rebounds, he only managed a mere 13 (5 offensive) to bring his total to 73 rebounds for the month of February. Pfft, that’s nothin’. The Kings could do that, too, you know, if they wanted to. Chandler added 8 points and a steal to his performance. Danny Green – He annihilated Minnesota with 8 three pointers, 28 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Green has been scorching with points and threes and has dual SG/SF eligibility for those curious. Kyle Lowry – Thanks to 3 of 6 shooting from the perimeter, Lowry finished with 17 digits, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. For all the nervous nellies out there, he is averaging 10 points and 6 assists this week, climbing back to where he once reigned. Kyrie Irving – He was perfect from behind the arc, nailing all 5 attempts and finishing with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. He is averaging 3 threes from three point land over the past week. Paul Pierce – He missed all but 2 of his 11 shots (those 2 were threes), but still wrapped up his evening with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, a steal and a block. Even when he hurts, he helps. Serge Ibaka – I told you to grab him and play him for daily leagues last night, and he exploded with 6 blocks to compliment his 15 points, 9 rebounds (5 offensive), and 4 assists. Ibaka is a Razzball fan favorite, so I probably didn’t need to tell you, but there you are anyway. Raymond Felton - I also advised you to grab Ray Ray, who didn’t excite as much beyond his 17 points (3-5 from downtown), although he did have 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, which is cool ranch. Harrison Barnes – Someone played nearly 29 minutes without rebounding or dishing out an assist. He did put up 19 towards the Warriors’ final score, and he also did steal a ball, but that last one may have been an accident. Usually he is good for 3 rebounds and 1 assist, which, while not impressive, is still better than goose eggs. Pau Gasol – At a minimum, he won’t return before St. Patrick’s Day, and could miss as much as 10 weeks. D’oh! I dropped him. I added Antawn Jamison. He’s not Gasol, but he’s better than having Gasol do nothing for my team.
