Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook displayed his impressive athleticism with a clean block of a dunk attempt by Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert during the fourth quarter of Sunday's NBA game at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The block is more impressive given that Russell stands only 6-foot-3, nearly a foot shorter than Hibbert, who stands 7-foot-2.

The Thunder took down the Pacers 104-93 on Sunday, but Russell Westbrook did much more than that with just one block. Westbrook met the 7′ 2″, 280 lbs Roy Hibbert at the rim and let him know he was not welcome. Westbrook stuffed a Hibbert dunk attempt with a ridiculous amount of enthusiasm. The result was the loss of all self-esteem and balance for Hibbert.

Since earning a massive contract with the Indiana Pacers in the offseason, Roy Hibbert has had his fair share of troubles on the court. He is averaging a pedestrian 10 points and 9 rebounds per game, while his Player Efficiency Rating(PER) is still under 15, considered the league average. He’s shooting...
Russell Westbrook got up last night. He earned the block of the night against Pacers center Roy Hibbert. Hibbert stands nearly a foot taller than Westbrook(6'3) at 7'2. This speaks a lot for the ups that Westbrook has as a point guard. Check out the block of the night in the video below.

Roy Hibbert‘s quest to become the best center in the NBA is not going so well. The 7-foot-2 Indiana Pacers big man may be coming off a career season, but on Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder he posted another disappointing stat line with 10 points and six rebounds.
Oh, yeah. And this happened, courtesy of 6-foot-3 point guard Russell Westbrook:

Background: Roy Hibbert, he of the Indiana Pacers, said to Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears that he wil be the best center in the NBA one day. Apparently, this means he does not realize that Dwight Howard, Marc Gasol, Greg Monroe, Anderson Varejao, Andrew Bynum, Kevin Love, Brook Lopez, Al Horford, etc. are all centers in the NBA right now and are pretty...
6’3 Russell Westbrook blocks 7’0 Roy Hibbert’s shot… I mean YEAH! Oh, after this play, Russ hit a jumper. Thunder over Pacers 104-93. video via SLAM
Point guards shouldn’t be allowed to block 7-foot centers but most point guards aren’t Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook. In the Thunder’s 104-93 win over the Pacers Westbrook blocked the 7’2” Roy Hibbert. Hibbert was going up for a dunk but Westbrook denied him.
Westbrook is one if not the best athlete in the NBA; he is just so explosive.

Tweet OKC Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook at 6’3″ is one the most, if not the most athletic players in the NBA. Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert at 7’2″ is one of the NBA’s tallest players. With that tale of the tape, you wouldn’t expect this end result of a Hibbert dunk attempt: Incredible display [...]
According to Ric Bucher of CSN Bay Area, Oklahoma City Thunder players Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook wanted to prove Kobe Bryant wrong. Apparently, during the 2012 Olympics in London, Kobe Bryant was constantly talking so much smack towards the two Thunder players. Kobe was saying that Durant and Westbrook will not be able to get to the NBA Finals again after the Lakers...
Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant combined for their highest point total (69) of the season in the Thunders match up against the Lakers on Friday night. Now comes word that there was an additional motivation for those performances; Kobe Bryant’s Olympic smack talk. Allegedly last summer after the Lakers acquired Steve Nash and Dwight Howard, [...]
1. Oklahoma City Thunder (17-4; Previously #3): Oklahoma won all three of their games this past week (IND, BKN, LAL) and OKC is looking like one of the best, if not the best team in the league. OKLAHOMA CITY There was a moment Sunday night in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 104-93 win over the Indiana Pacers that drilled right past the noise and clutter and hit at the very center of why this team has emerged as perhaps the best in the league.
With 5:39 left in the first quarter of what would be a grinding but well-executed game for both teams, Russell Westbrook exploded...
The Indiana Pacers appeared to have momentum heading into their showdown with the Denver Nuggets at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, so it's disappointing to see them crumple down the stretch and hand the Nuggets a 92-89 victory.
I had hoped for JaVale McGee to score some baskets for the Pacers but instead he dominated Roy Hibbert, who was kept to 10 and 9 on 3-10 shooting (though...
