Russell Westbrook threw down an absolute monster of a dunk in Oklahoma City’s thrashing of the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday. Right before halftime, Westbrook blew by Bobcats guard Kemba Walker and elevated for the power jam to put the Thunder up 64-24 going into the break. “They was sleeping. Everybody’s head turned, so I decided to go and take off,” Westbrook said of the dunk. Westbrook was then asked why he threw down so hard. “It’s a tendency. I have a tendency of dunking the ball like that. Just natural, I guess.” According to the Associated Press, the 40-point advantage was the fifth-largest halftime lead of the shot clock era. I really can’t imagine a team doing worse than scoring 24 points in one half of an NBA game. That’s pathetic, especially considering that the Bobcats appeared to be turning things around. Westbrook finished with 12 points and 11 assists and didn’t need to play more than 21 minutes in the blowout.

Thunder set OKC record with 45-point rout of Bobcats

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Before the Charlotte Bobcats took the floor Monday, coach Mike Dunlap told his players to not listen to the outside noise. Even though the team had already matched its win total from the previous season, he didn't want the Bobcats to start believing the hype about how good they were. Harden returning to OKC with the Rockets

OKLAHOMA CITY Scott Brooks is known for his low-key approach, so when he said Wednesday's game against Houston was something bigger, it made an impression. After all, Brooks is a company man, loves to talk about the process and the practice. Every game counts the same, all 82 of 'em, so getting too high for the Lakers or showing disinterest in the Bobcats would be a disservice...
