So far, all of the National Basketball Association arenas are closed/indoor facilities but if the Sacramento Kings get their way, they might have the first ever indoor/outdoor arena.
During a press conference yesterday, Kings owner Vivek Ranadive talked about his plans for a brand-new arena:
Ranadive said the new facility “will be the first basketball arena that has this indoor-outoor feature to it. For concerts and other events, you could actually completely open it up and have 18,000 people inside and another 10,000 people outside.”
He gave few other details, saying, “You’ll have to wait and see the plans.”
There is also talk that the arena might be the NBA’s first “cash-less arena”:

DeMarcus Cousins and the Sacramento Kings have reportedly agreed upon a 4-year extension that will pay the center $62 million reports Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
Cousins has averaged 16.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals over his first three NBA seasons with Sacramento.
