After leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 31-35 record this season and missing the playoffs for the second straight season, most people thought it was a wrap for Scott Skiles in Milwaukee. Skiles himself reportedly thought it was a rap as well because according a NBA official, Skiles “cleaned out his office after the season.” But alas, Skiles somehow was not fired and the Bucks are preparing for yet another year under Skiles’ direction. But with news of Stan Van Gundy getting let go in Orlando, Skiles is reportedly hoping that he’s preparing for his first season as the Magic’s coach sometime soon. The Magic position opened up Monday when Stan Van Gundy, who once coached at the University of Wisconsin, was shown the door. Those who know Skiles well insist he would crawl to Orlando to be the Magic’s coach. Skiles not only has a house in the Orlando area but he played five years with the Magic while becoming one of their most beloved players ever. More importantly, Skiles is one of Richa...

The Magic announced this week that they fired GM Otis Smith and head coach Stan Van Gundy. Van Gundy and Smith are out, but Dwight still could be too

The Orlando Magic fired one of the five best coaches in the NBA this past season because Dwight Howard didn't like him. We can assume he didn't like all that nagging Stan did in hopes that Dwight improve as a player, but we don't know that for sure. The day Stan pulled back the curtain in front of the NBA universe exposing Howard's demands to have him canned surely...

Late yesterday ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported that Shaquille O’Neal may meet with the Orlando Magic as early as next week to discuss their GM job. From there Broussard goes on to explain how Howard has been a confidante for Howard and how he and Orlando president Alex Martins have a solid relationship. All in an effort to persuade to pay attention to something that has a minute...

Everyone Involved With Orlando And Charlotte Have Done Lost Their Minds

Now, perhaps this is all just Internet tomfoolery here, but two quick rumors need to be noted.1) The Orlando Magic actually considered making Shaquille O'Neal their new GM, and2) Jerry Sloan would consent, on some level, to being the coach of the Charlotte Hornets. Now, um, the first.Orlando, didn't Shaq do enough damage to your franchise when he left the first time?I'...

Shaq to discuss GM job with Orlando Magic

In what would be the worse idea of all time, the Orlando Magic are reportedly willing to discuss the general manager job with Shaquille O'Neal. Orlando is looking to retain the services of Dwight Howard and think that maybe O'Neal could help keeping Howard in town.   O'Neal stated his career in Orlando but has no front office experience whatsoever. It has worked out...

The Big G.M himself ((ht: espn.com/broussard)) Huh? The master of the mono-syllabic pun running an NBA franchise? Really? Well, according to ESPN.com's Chris Broussard, the Orlando Magic want to meet with former Magic star and current TNT commentator. The reason: Apparently O'Neal has a good relationship with the whiny Dwight Howard and the Magic may believe...

The Magic reportedly want Doc Rivers to be their next GM. Will it happen?

ESPN’s NBA Insider Chris Broussard reported last night that the Orlando Magic, who recently cut ties with both coach Stan Van Gundy and General Manager Otis Smith, want to convince Doc Rivers to leave the Celtics and return to central Florida. Rivers has strong ties to Orlando, as he coached the Magic from 1999-2003 (he won Coach of the Year after the 2000 season) and still currently...

Are the Orlando Magic victims of a trend?

There was a good reason the GM of the Magic was fired and it had nothing to do with Dwight Howard. Gilbert Arenas, Vince Carter, and Jason Richardson were failures for Orlando and now they are stuck searching how to better this team.

Wave Goodbye Stan

Stan Van Gundy was fired on Monday, which essentially signified ownership siding with Dwight Howard – who will likely leave anyway – over the embattled coach. There was a time when Van Gundy and Howard seemed like they had a relationship that was kind of funny. But this season, it jst turned sad and stupid. Somehow I don’t think Dwight will be doing too many more Stan Van impressions.

How Could Things Be Worse For The Magic? Hiring Shaquille O’Neal As The GM

Have you heard the one about the superstar free agent center who left his team, citing myriad problems within the organization as well as his desire to leave behind a “small pond” market for stardom, and then spent the next decade constantly ripping that team at any chance he got for no good reason, ultimately focusing on its new superstar center, who admired and idolized him...
