Former NBA star Scottie Pippen is facing a hefty lawsuit stemming from an incident which took place last month at an upscale restaurant in Southern California.The alleged incident left a man hospitalized with a head injury after the man claims Pippen viciously attacked him upon requesting an autograph for his girlfriend's 12-year-old son.The man, 49-year-old Camran Shafighi, is seeking $4 million in damages after filing a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday.Shafighi claims that he was a victim of a "brutal and unjustified physical attack" that included being shoved, spit in the face, and punched to the groud."At no time did or could Mr. Shafighi physically provoke or fight back, as he was knocked unconscious with the first blow," the lawsuit says.Pippen's version of the story is much different, though. He claims he had been dining with his family at the eatery while Shafighi took pictures of Pippen inside the resturant and then outside in the parking lot, too.Witnesses described Shafighi as being intoxicated before an argument ensued between the two individuals, eventually escalating into violence, and sending Shafighi to the hospital. The latter was treated and released for a head injury.Officials are still investigating the incident while no arrests nor charges have been made.Via USA TODAY
