During Thursday night's TNT pre-game show, the 2012 NBA All-Star reserves were announced. Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was not among them, despite being 3rd in the fan voting behind starting guards Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade. At 4:47 in the video above, former Celtic Shaquille O'Neal argued that Rondo deserved to be an All-Star and claimed that Rajon is the "best point guard in the game." Obviously the NBA coaches that voted on the reserves didn't agree with Shaq, and it appears as though Rondo's injury affected the coaches' selection of reserves. Do you feel like Rondo was snubbed? Should Pierce be the lone Celtic on the 2012 All-Star team? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Rajon Rondo Provides More Value for Celtics Than Pau Gasol Ever Could

During the Boston Celtics 2007-08 championship season, Rajon Rondo was merely a wide-eyed youngster trying to help three future Hall of Famers achieve their NBA dreams. Flash forward four years, Rondo has transformed into a perennial all-star and at this point may even be more important to the Celtics than any of the Big 3 -- although Paul Pierce's recent resurgence would suggest...

Taking Stock: Celtics - Lakers

After every game, we'll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player's overall value. Starters Rajon Rondo:  His numbers looked ok in the box score and he certainly had some amazing moments in the game.  But he got too passive down the stretch for my liking.  I know the Lakers have trees back there in Bynum and Gasol.  And I know...

Boston Celtics hiked the ball through their legs after tip-off (Video)

If you saw the opening tipoff for the Celtics-Lakers game Thursday night, then the outcome may have felt like karma. After the Celtics won the tip, Kevin Garnett hiked the ball between his legs to Rajon Rondo, who then hiked the ball to himself. I don’t know if unconventional move was a nod to the Patriots players in attendance or what, but it was pretty funny. Probably would...

Celtics Live Blog: Rajon Rondo, C's Try to Get Back on Winning Track in Toronto

8 a.m.: Following a torturous overtime loss to the hated Lakers, the Celtics turn their attention to a foe they've had a much easier time of handling this season. The Celtics are 4-0 this season against the Raptors, including the preseason. Toronto is again without center Andrea Bargnani, who came into this season with a renewed dedication to become more than just a spot-up jump...

Celtics pay tribute to the Patriots by...long snapping the tipoff?

Many of the NFL's runner-up (ugh) New England Patriots were in attendance for the Celtics-Lakers game tonight at the Garden. Kevin Garnett and the Celtics decided to pay tribute to Belichick & Co. by long-snapping the opening tipoff to Rajon Rondo to start the game. The strangest part is that Rondo then decided to snap it through the legs to himself, which by NBA...

Celtics work on their long-snapping after winning tip-off against Lakers

The Lakers and Celtics squared off in a Thursday night matchup at the TD Garden, and a couple of the Boston players chose the moments immediately following the tip-off to hone their long-snapping skills.  Jermaine O’Neal won the tip back to a waiting Kevin Garnett, who proceeded to spin and hike the ball to Rajon Rondo some 30-feet behind him.  Rondo then snapped the ball...

The Celtics start the game with a long snap (Video)

Hey, would you look at that. The Celtics just made football season last a little longer. Kevin Garnett long snaps the ball back to Rajon Rondo, who does a baby snap to himself. How whimsical! I figure this is the basketball equivalent to starting off your long, at-times-entertaining, but flaw-exposing speech with a punchy joke. Kudos, Ball Don’t Lie

They're now in lone-Star state

For the past four years, the Big Three have taken a trip to the All-Star Game together, and for the past two, Rajon Rondo has joined them.

Celtics’ turnaround sparked by defense

The Boston Celtics have had their share of problems thisseason. Injuries have caused starters Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo tomiss games and the team seemed out of sync to start the season.Boston already had depth issues before having to sufferthrough the missed games from their starters and Pierce’s slumping play once hereturned. Despite the hardships though, the Celtics...

Celtics fall in overtime against Lakers, 88-87

The historic rival between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics continued tonight for the first time during this shortened locked out season with the Lakers coming out on top in overtime, 88-87. Both teams are not what they once were, however nether can be counted out. The Lakers have struggled on the road and have lost 6 of last 10. Either way you look at it, this game was...
