Jerome Miron-US PRESSWIRE
After being out for the past five games, Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion will make his return to the team Friday night as they take on the Indiana Pacers, according to ESPN Dallas. Marion was dealing with an injury has he had a sprained MCL in his left knee.
Marion says he still has some soreness and stiffness in his knee, but he will be ready enough to play.
“I’m going to have to fight through it,” he said. “But I’m going. I’m tired of sitting out.”
The 13-year-veteran is a key part of the team, as the 6-7 forward is currently averaging eight points and nine rebounds per game right now. He also has three assists and 1.3 blocks averaged as well. Marion currently leads the team in rebounds averaged.
The 34-year-old has shown how important he is to the team, as they went 2-3 without him. They started with a 3-1 record when he was in. Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle says that Marion is the best all-around player on the roster.
Marion currently remains the only healthy player left from the 2011 Mavs championship team, as Dirk Nowitzki is still out after getting surgery on his right knee. Dallas can really start getting things pumping and working once he makes his return.
As of right now, having Marion back is a big boost.

Cavaliers (2-6) vs. Mavericks (5-5) - Game 9
OPENING TIP
The Dallas Mavericks are a team in transition, a team thats making changes while aiming to stay relevant. Its an interesting way to do things for the franchise won a title two seasons ago -- but so far, so good. Or at least so not-too-shabby.
The Mavs know Dirk Nowitzki wont be around forever. He certainly wont be around for the game tonight in Cleveland, as the All...

Mavericks-Cavaliers Preview
While the Dallas Mavericks have been anything but consistent, O.J. Mayo has been nothing but steady.
Coming off their most lopsided loss of the season, Mayo and the Mavericks try to get back on track Saturday when they visit a Cleveland Cavaliers team that has dropped four straight.
Mayo has been one of the few constants for Dallas (5-5), which has lost four of five after a 4-1...
Dallas Gets Back Over The .500 Mark With Win Over The Washington Wizards
Hey, the Dallas Mavericks haven’t forgot how to win a ball game! Kind of had me scared for a bit especially since at one time they had over a 20 point lead and only won by 6, what’s up with that and also at the end of the game, the Wizards had all bench players; but those players gave their team a spark and the coach stayed with that plan.
A win is a win, but there are still...
Mavericks-Pacers Preview
