The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the youngest teams in the NBA and right now stand a top the Atlantic Division at 12-5. A lot of that is due to some ballin’ ass young players like Jrue Holiday, Thaddeus Young and Andre Iguodala, but a lot has to be credited to head coach Doug Collins. After leading the Sixers to a 41-41 record, a playoff birth, and even taking a game from the heavily favored Miami Heat in last years postseason, Collins has his squad doing work right now. Not because he is a hard ass, not because he is the smartest coach in the league….but because he has the same weird ass philosophies as one of the NBA greatest coaches…..Phil “Zen Master” Jackson. Instead of breaking balls in practice, having his young team do suicides and laps, during a stretch where the Sixers play 5 games in 6 days (especially in a shortened, more compact season) Collins has his team doing yoga instead of practicing.
