The Philadelphia 76ers are enjoying a terrific start to their 2011-12 season, boosting their record to 6-2 with a 96-86 win over the Danny Granger-less Indiana Pacers (6-3).

Once again, the Sixers didn't rely on one individual to carry the load. Behind Andre Iguodala's 20 points and Lou Williams' 13 points off the bench, Philadelphia jumped out to a hot start in the first quarter en route to six players finishing with double-digit scoring figures.

Rookie Nikola Vucevic came out ready to play, collecting 11 points and eight rebounds. Thaddeus Young, Jrue Holliday and Spencer Hawes each recorded 12 points, while Evan Turner and Jodie Meeks only combined for 10 points each in what was a lackluster game for the two.

Heading into the game, Philadelphia's two losses were against teams above.500 with their five prior wins coming against sub-.500 teams. Tonight was an important game, not just because the Sixers were looking to extend their lead in the Atlantic, but because it was a statement game.

It's early, in fact it's way too early to make any predictions, but this Sixers team has a lot of swagger and a lot of energy to go along with their youth. Winning the first of three consecutive games is very important, especially with Sacramento coming into town tomorrow before they head up north to take on division rival New York.
