Found May 15, 2013 on Fox Sports:
Knicks swingman J.R. Smith has not been good during the team's second-round series against the Indiana Pacers, which New York trails 3-1 after Tuesday's 93-82 loss in Indy. Of that, there is no dispute -- not even from Smith, himself. Through four games, the recently crowned sixth man of the year has averaged 13.3 points, nearly five below his season average, and the way the notorious chucker has done it has been downright hideous: on 18-of-64 (28.1 percent) shooting from the field and 6-of-26 (23.1 percent) shooting from outside. Smith has been so bad that even he can't defend his play. And on Tuesday night, after a 7-of-22 performance that saw him go 2-of-12 in the first three quarters, Smith took the blame for the entire series, which appears all but certain to end with the Knicks going home. (In NBA history, only eight teams have won a series after trailing 3-1.) "I take the blame for this whole series," Smith told reporters in Indianapolis . "It started off with Game 4 in Boston or Game 5. I haven't been playing (like) myself. I haven't been playing my part. I've been letting my teammates down. I've been letting my coaches down. And it doesn't feel good." Smith earned a suspension for Game 4 of the Knicks' first-round series against the Celtics after elbowing Jason Terry in Game 3. In the final two games of New York's 4-2 win, Smith shot a combined 8-of-27 from the floor. On Saturday in Game 3, Smith played with a 102-degree fever, but his was hardly reminiscent of Michael Jordan's "flu game." Smith had nine points on 4-of-12 shooting in the loss. It didn't get much better on Tuesday, and if it doesn't soon, the Knicks' season won't last much longer. Game 5 is Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. "Everybody's been encouraging me, 'Keep shooting, keep shooting, keep shooting,'" Smith said Tuesday . "I'm still trying to get to the basket, trying to get easy ones, easy layups, get to the free-throw line. But I'm even missing layups, too. I missed a technical free throw tonight. It's just frustrating."

Rihanna: JR Smith slumping because he’s hungover from partying in clubs

J.R. Smith has been shooting the ball terribly during the playoffs, and Rihanna says that’s because the New York Knicks guard is hungover from partying in clubs every night. Smith shot the ball well in Games 2 and 3 of the Knicks-Boston Celtics series, which the Knicks won in six games. He went 13-of-27 (48 percent) including 4-9 (44 percent) on 3-pointers those two games. But...

Pop star Rihanna 'clubs' J.R. Smith

New York Knicks sixth man J.R. Smith has been struggling in the playoffs, to the point where he's blaming himself for his team's second-round woes against the Indiana Pacers. But if an Instagram comment posted Thursday by R&B singer Rihanna is to be believed, there could be a simple explanation for why Smith is stuck in such a rut on the court: He may be spending too...

J.R. Smith’s Illness Feels Like Only Part of Story for Knicks Guard as Struggles Continue

It goes without saying that J.R. Smith has not been the same player in the playoffs that he was in the regular season, when he averaged 18.1 points off the bench and earned the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. Calling him a “no-show” lately would be generous. At least if he were a no-show, his effect on the Knicks would be neutral. Instead, he is starting to outright hurt...

Rihanna Says Knicks Are Wack, Calls J.R. Smith ‘Thirsty’ And Blames His Slump On Clubbing

Rihanna took offense on Instagram Thursday and responded to a fan who blamed her for the J.R. Smith’s recent playoff slump. The pop singer has been linked on and off to the 6th Man of the Year for quite some time, but most recently when they were pictured partying at her tour’s after-party in New York after his team’s only win against the Pacers in the series thus far.  Smith...

J.R. Smith ‘Not Worried About Instagram’ In Regards To Rihanna’s Claims

J.R. Smith says he’s only worried about the playoffs as he disregarded Rihanna’s claims that his shooting woes were due to his recent partying during the postseason. According to ESPN: “I’m not worried about Instagram, I’m worried about the playoffs,” Smith said after the New York Knicks’ Game 5 win over the Indiana Pacers.

JR Smith: “I Take The Blame For This Whole Series”

Even though Smith has been shooting 28% this series against the Pacers in the 2nd round playoff, the Sixth Man of The Year cant let his slumps get the best of him. From NY Daily News, speaking after their disappointing 93-82 lost to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night, JR Smith gave every Knick fan a place to take their blame… him. “My frustration with myself is extremely high...

Rihanna Calls JR Smith “Thirsty”, Claims He’s Hungover During Games

The Knicks are on the brink of elimination thanks to the Indiana Pacers, so anymore outside distractions could contribute to the end their season. Unfortunately for them Rihanna never got the memo. Jocks and Stiletto Jill caught RiRi replying to someone on Instagram who was blaming her for JR Smith’s recent shooting woe’s. In the [...]

Knicks’ J.R. Smith, Kenyon Martin out again with illness

For the second day in a row the New York Knicks were withoutguard J.R. Smith and forward Kenyon Martin, as both players continued to battle illness. Considering the lingering illnesses both players are facing, coach Mike Woodson told reporters – including Ian Begley of ESPN – that Smith and Martin will be game-time decisions for tonight’s Game 4 matchup against the Indiana...

Caption the Photo: John Starks and JR Smith Sharing a Moment

John Starks gets a bit of a bad rap, without him the Knicks wouldn’t have been as good during the 1993-94 season and he was a tough of a player that there ever was, but his playoff failures that year are similar to JR Smith on a much grander scale. The 1993-94 season was Starks best as a pro, he averaged 19 points and 6 assists a game. In the playoffs though , all his numbers were...

JR Smith's ineptitude since elbowing Jason Terry has spawned it's own twitter account

Jason Kidd hasn't scored a point in 8 games (since Game 2 vs Boston), but another Knick may being going through an even bigger slump.  After JR Smith's flagrant foul got him suspended for Game 4 of the Celtics series (a game Smith claimed New York would have won if he'd played), he has yet to shoot even 40% from the field in a single game.  Smith is a combined 26-91...

These NBA & NFL Jocks have a reason to be “Cocky;” JR Smith, Serge Ibaka, Larry Fitzgerald & more

Warning, this is not a conversation for under the age of 18 or anyone with tender eyes. KMichelle’s discussion about her love sick “hot pocket” inspired a discussion about JR Smith’s “cockiness.” Considering the popularity of that post. I decided to do an impromptu poll. And by poll I mean I sent out a few text messages and looked back in the email archives to put together...

TOK Game Recap – Knicks Season Just About Over

The New York Knicks season was pushed to the brink tonight with another lackluster effort against the Indiana Pacers, as they fell 93-82. Eleven points doesn’t do justice to how one sided this game felt. The Knicks went down immediately and were never really in the game. We’ve seen this movie before. Outside of the 4th quarter in the Game 2, the Knicks have been thoroughly out...
