For those who don't know me, I'm a really optimistic guy. But that optimism has been taking too many hits lately. First with the Skins, who I thought were playoff bound, then with the Caps, who seem to be a different team every day, and now with the Wizards.
At the beginning of the season, I did a scan of the entire Eastern Conference. When I looked at each team's roster and past seasons, I honestly could not find eight teams that I thought would be better than the Wizards. There was very little doubt in my mind that we would finish the season with a better record than at least Philadelphia, Indiana, New Jersey, Toronto, Detroit, Charlotte, and Cleveland.
Well...Whoops.
With Philly and Indiana having 9-3 records and our only win being against a Toronto team with a better record than us, I'm starting to regret all the trash talking I did in my circle of friends. But thus is the life of a DC sports fan. Picking up Rashard Lewis, Roger Mason and Ronni Turiaf was supp...

JaVale McGee benched after throwing alley-oop to himself (video)
Wizards big man JaVale McGee was benched Monday for throwing himself an alley-oop in the third quarter of his team’s loss to the Rockets. I’m not sure why it’s so hard for McGee to understand that showboating on a 1-12 team is a bad idea, but he doesn’t seem to get it.
“Apparently, if you get a fastbreak & throw it off backboard in the 3rdQ...
JaVale McGee’s Bad Day Got Worse After Benching for Backboard Alley-Oop (Video)
JaVale McGee had a really bad day yesterday.
It started early in the Wizards loss to the Houston Rockets after Chandler Parsons dunked on him and then rode his head like a mechanical bull.
Then in the third quarter, with his team down 64-58, McGee ran ahead on a fast break and dropped an NBA Street style off the backboard dunk.
And of course, it got him benched by head coach Flip...
Rockets' Chandler Parsons Dunks On Wizards' JaVale McGee (Video)
In the first quarter of Monday's NBA game in Washington, Houston Rockets forward Chandler Parsons ran from the three-point line, grabbed an offensive rebound in mid-air and dunked all over Wizards center JaVale McGee. To top things off, after Parsons hung onto the rim to gain his balance, he landed on McGee's shoulders, leaving McGee with a face full of Parsons' crotch...

Video: JaVale McGee with the ally-oop to himself
Make no mistake, the Wizards are terrible, but they still have a couple guys who can make the losing entertaining (at least for a while). One is the guy who should have won the dunk contest last year, JaVale McGee, who had the monster slam you can see above. John Wall also put on a…
Washington Wizards working on turnovers, ball movement
The Wizards have had so many games in which players shoot after the first pass on offense or take turns going on one-on-one, dribble-shake-and-shoot-fests that they were probably shocked by what happened on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers: Players were actually looking to make the extra pass.

Wall breaks out in Wizards' latest setback
It was the kind of transcendent performance everyone has been waiting to see all season from John Wall, including Wall himself — a career-high 38 points, eight assists, and just two turnovers. But in the end, it wasn't enough, as the Wizards fell to the Houston Rockets 114-106 on Monday. ...
