An NBA insider has reported on Wednesday that the Pacers are the leading candidate to acquire centre Chris Kaman from the New Orleans Hornets. The Hornets have made it clear that they are shopping Kaman, and have asked him to stay home as they attempt to deal the big man. What would be in it for the Hornets is unclear, however it is evident that the Pacers will not move any of their core pieces. The reason Kaman appeals to the Pacers is because he’s seen as a viable back-up center to Roy Hibbert, who has been overworked this season. Hibbert might also end up seeing some time at the power forward position with Kaman at the center slot, and this would immensely increase the depth on the surging Pacers squad. Nothing is finalized as of yet, but a deal could be announced as early as Thursday. Stay tuned. Follow me on Twitter @Thesachman
