New York Sports-Kings:
There is yet another twist in the Iman Shumpert trade rumors that started surfacing last weekend.
After Head Coach Mike Woodson reassured Shumpert that he would not be traded, Chris Sheridan of Sheridan Hoops reported that the Knicks are still considering trading their only player under the age of 27.
The source, who spoke to Sheridan on the condition of remaining anonymous claimed that they are concerned with how the Knicks are developing him as a player. Shumpert has been asked to play small forward and the people around him feel he should be developing as a guard.
“They feel he’s being played out of position (at small forward) and his confidence is suffering because of it.” The source said. “They understand the team is having success and it has to be the right deal, but they’d prefer Iman in another situation… And soon.”
The rumor is just the latest twist in the story that broke last Saturday. The Knicks have struggled since the second year player out of Georgia Tech returned from an injury that sidelined him until mid January.
Numerous trades have been rumored from Jared Dudley of the Suns to Paul Millsap of the Jazz. The Knicks feel they are in need of another 3-point shooter and/or an interior defender and rebounder with both Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace sidelined with injuries.
One area they have struggled since Shumpert’s return is their perimeter defense. Shumpert was a standout defensively in his rookie year but has struggled to keep guards from reaching the paint this year.
Besides Woodson, Carmelo Anthony has also shown support for Shumpert. The Knicks will have only until 3 p.m. Thursday to make a deal with Shumpert.

According to Sheridan Hoops, The camp of Iman Shumpert has grown frustrated the way Iman has been developed in the Knicks rotation since his return from injury. I hope all this is not true and Iman is a happy camper in the Orange an Blue. If you read this article from Sheridan Hoops, it sounds as if the Knicks are not using him the proper way and Iman and his handlers are not happy...

Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire is catching some flak for tweeting that former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner's manifesto is "interesting" and "a must read."
Since returning from his irritating knee injury, Amar’e Stoudemire is playing some of the best basketball we’ve seen, but how long will that last for the New York Knicks?
There were times earlier in the season that Stoudemire looked old, slow and not involved in the games. Will he revert back to this?
Maybe the Knicks should aim-high and sell at his highest potential?... Read more
It’s no secret that the Knicks are notoriously slow starters in the 1st quarter. It has become a growing trend where the Knicks open up with a dreadful 1st quarter, play a good 2nd quarter to cut the halftime deficit to a reasonable margin, trade leads in the 3rd and then hope to gain an edge in the 4th quarter and pull away. Although the Knicks are statistically one of the...
Prior to the season starting, any New York Knicks fan would have signed up for their current situation at the All-Star Break. It is hard to complain about 32-18, a 2.5 game lead in the Atlantic Division and still being in striking distance of Miami for the #1 seed (4 games back). Beyond that, Amare Stoudemire has had a relatively seamless transition into becoming a bench player,...
James White brought out some of the best props we have seen for a dunk contest.
The New York Knicks swingman, nicknamed “Flight” because of his incredible leaping abilities, brought out an entire flight crew as props for his first dunk attempt Saturday in Houston. White lined the attendants up in two rows and ran through the group of attendants on his way to dunking from a step...
Carmelo Anthony and Diddy hosted a party the Ayva Center in Houston Saturday with Chris Brown, Sean Kingston and more coming out to enjoy the night.
Sometimes, stupid is as stupid does…
Stephon Marbury proves that theory correct. The ex-NBA star evidently didn’t understand that if you can read it and sign it, it’s a binding contract.
Marbury promised his then chef Thurayyah Mitchell and jump off $900,000 dollars to keep their affair private. Mitchell had the agreement in writing, and filed a lawsuit against Marbury after...
With the All-Star break shortly coming to an end, I’m taking a look at each player on the roster and will evaluate their production thus far into the season. The Knicks started out the season as one of the few surprise teams in the league, once leading all of the Eastern Conference before coming back down to earth. They are currently the number two seed in...
Imagine if Steve Novak was in that State Farm commercial with Aaron Rogers talking to a classroom of students. One of the kids could tell him he should have “double checked” the defender with a pump fake and then shoot to avoid from being blocked.
“Is that a question?” Novak could ask.
“No, just an observation,” replies the student with a smile.
Novak may “Discount...
Just five weeks ago, Carmelo Anthony hated Kevin Garnett. We all know the story; Anthony and Garnett were going at it in a tightly contested game back on Jan. 8. It got chippy and the two started jawing and before long, Garnett went below the belt like he normally does and allegedly said that Anthony’s wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.”
Now I’m not married but if...
It seems the issues between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony have been resolved.
The two Eastern Conference All-Stars teamed up to make fun of TNT announcer Craig Sager‘s turquoise suit. Sager asked Anthony about the spat between the Knick and Celtic at practice, and Anthony pulled Garnett over to help him answer the question.
“Honey Nut Cheerios” were not mentioned, but Garnett...
The New York Knicks-Brooklyn Nets rivalry is about to get a whole lot more interesting. Both teams have put in bids for the 2015 All-Star Game, and because of their arena situations – MSG recently being renovated and the brand new Barclays Center – NBA deputy commissioner, Adam Silver says it’s “likely” it will be in one of the two boroughs. The Knicks last hosted an All...
Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony have seem to resolve the little spat they had earlier in the year, and have since united for a greater cause: clowning Craig Sager’s awful suit.
Nice to see the two getting along again, and gotta love the comeback Sager threw back at KG.
