Kevin Garnett receives an MVP vote, finishes tied for 12th in voting

In his 18th season in the NBA, Kevin Garnett is still an incredibly valuable player. You can see some of that value in his stats (14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in just 29.7 minutes), you can see it on the scoreboard (the Celtics were 6 points better per 100 possessions this season with KG on the court, compared to when he sat), and you can see it in the MVP voting. Wait...

Kevin Garnett is rebounding at a historic rate, and he's getting better as the series goes on

In Game 1 of this series Kevin Garnett scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  In Game 2 he posted 12 and 11, Game Three 12 and 17, Game Four 13 and 17, and in Game 5 he had 16 points and 18 boards.  At this pace should we expect a 20/20 game from him tonight? Garnett's 14.4 rebounds per game lead the entire league this postseason.  He's the first Celtic player to pull...

Endgames: Why The Celtics Need To Say Goodbye To Pierce and Garnett

Photo credit: David Butler II/USA TODAY Sports   Damn it. As always, it ended too soon. They should have gone further. They should have done better. They had so much more to say. Instead Kevin Garnett and co. will be...

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce leave court without shaking hands (Video)

Kevin Garnett stayed true to his competitive form to the very end. After the Boston Celtics lost to the New York Knicks 88-80 in a series-ending Game 6 at TD Garden on Friday, Garnett walked off the court without appearing to shake hands with his opponents. Teammates Paul Pierce and Jason Terry were right in front of him as they walked off the court and into the locker room. Exiting...

Your Morning Dump… Where KG is chomping glass

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Two weeks shy of his 37th birthday, Kevin Garnett finds himself in the midst of maybe the most impressive rebounding stretch of his entire 18-year NBA career. Try these numbers on for size: Not only does the Celtics...

Kevin Garnett Says Celtics Future Will Depend on What Happens With Paul Pierce

With the Celtics having been unceremoniously booted from the first round of the NBA playoffs, there are major questions whether the team’s two longtime stars, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, will return to lead Boston for at least one more year. Both Garnett and Pierce are under contract next season — and Garnett one more beyond that — but the Celtics also hold a $5 million...

CC video of the day: KG gives one highly charged postgame interview

If you look up the definition of "intensity" in the dictionary, aside from the definition itself, you might find a photo of Boston's Kevin Garnett next to it. Throughout his entire NBA career, KG has exuded emotion, intensity, and often times too much intensity on the court. Some people like it while some think it is just too over the top and he needs to bring it...

Carmelo Anthony says KG "yanked his arm out"

Poor Carmelo Anthony. He's taken so much abuse this season. First Kevin Garnett told him his wife tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios. Or maybe he didn't. Anyway, then Jordan Crawford most certainly said something else not so nice about Melo's wife. Now, on top of all that. Melo's arm hurts. CSNNE: "He yanked my arm out," Anthony said of Garnett. "It...

Celtics fans chant “Honey Nut Cheerios” at Carmelo Anthony
