The Sixers traded big man Marreese Speights to the Memphis Grizzlies which included the New Orleans Hornets today. The end result was the Sixers receiving two second round picks and a trade exception allowing them to add salary if they make a trade within a year. Speights showed promise early in his career with the Sixers as a offensive scorer but never was able to round out his game on the defensive end which crippled his playing time to develop. The Grizzlies grab Speights to fill a need at power forward to replace All Star Zach Randolph who is out 6-8 weeks due to a torn medial collateral ligament he hurt Sunday playing against the Bulls.
