NEW ORLEANS – Tim Duncan scored 24 points, including nine of his team's final 12 points, and Tony Parker hit a dagger three-pointer with 49 seconds left to power the San Antonio Spurs to a 99-95 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night, spoiling the NBA debut of No. 1 overall pick Anthony Davis. Duncan, who like Davis hopes to be was once the lottery pick who changed the course of the San Antonio franchise, also grabbed 11 rebounds as the Spurs overcame Davis' 21-point, seven-rebound effort. Parker had 23 points for the Spurs, and Kawhi Leonard added 19. The Spurs erased a seven-point halftime deficit with a 21-5 run in the first 7:05 of the third quarter, hitting 7-of-11 shots while holding the Hornets to 1-of-10 shooting and four turnovers. But the Hornets closed the quarter with a 16-7 run of their own to tie the game, 71-71. The teams traded three-pointers, with Roger Mason putting the Hornets up 83-80 and Kawhi Leonard answering from the left baseli...

Some would say that Tim Duncan was never a theatrical Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Maam dunker, but the advanced aged San Antionio Spurs star shows younger Oklahoma City Thunder player, Serge Ibaka, that he still has moves on Thursday night. The post Tim Duncan Dunks On Serge Ibaka (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Anthony Davis, the overall No. 1 draft pick of the New Orleans, has left Friday night's game against Utah and is being tested for a possible concussion and will not return.
Davis had eight points -- all on dunks in the first half -- six rebounds and two blocks. He was injured with 4:51 left in the first half. The Hornets released an official statement that...
Ludacris has been pretty quiet in the rap game as of late but he busted out a prime costume for Halloween festivities this past weekend. The ATL-based rapper dressed up as top draft pick Anthony Davis, complete with a unibrow (not sure if it’s real or not….) and Davis Hornets jersey. Awesome costume, give that man some candy.

San Antonio Spurs swingman Stephen Jackson stays true to keep his bars at top-notch, recently admitting that he spent most of the off-season on working with his rap music than working on his NBA game.
Jackson it set to appear on an album very soon featuring several NBA players and rappers, along with having his own mixtape, something that the leader on his team wanted to be part...
Guess who rapper Ludacris decided to dress up as in honor of Halloween this year? The correct answer to that question would be New Orleans Hornets rookie and overall number one draft pick Anthony Davis. Who else in the sporting world rocks a more distinct unibrow than the one sported by Ludacris? The resemblance is uncanny. However, Davis holds about a 14-inch edge in the height...
In addition to Tony Parker hitting that buzzer beater on Thursday night to lift the Spurs over the Thunder, Tim Duncan reminded you why he is still one of the best power forwards in basketball. Duncan may be a 15-year NBA vet but he can still get up. Check out his dunk on Serge [...]
In consecutive nights, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was given the ball on the perimeter, definitely not Parker’s strong suit, and both times Parker delivered with a late-game three-pointer to give the Spurs a chance at a win.
Tonight it was even sweeter as Parker hit the three and followed with a buzzer-beater on a midrange jumper that swished through the net as time...
Since there was only one game on the NBA schedule yesterday, the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs featured our dunk of the night.
Watch as San Antonio forward Tim Duncan lowers the boom on Thunder forward Serge Ibaka:
Anthony Davis and Darius Miller made their NBA debuts for the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night. Davis, the top overall draft pick, produced big numbers in his first pro game.
You don’t have to know much about basketball to know about Anthony Davis and his trusty sidekick, the famous uni-brow. He dominated so much in college that he couldn’t get any better and became the unanimous first overall pick in the draft. The man can flat out ball and he won’t struggle from the beginning because you can’t teach height...
Wednesday night in New Orleans wasn’t exactly scripted as planned. The San Antonio Spurs, who finished with the best record in the Western Conference last season and had their entire team back, struggled against the number one overall pick Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday, however by the end of the night, the ending result was similar to the original script...
When San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker nailed the game-winning shot on the Oklahoma City Thunder last night, the players rushed him to celebrate the win. There were smiles all around, hugs being given and all around jubilation.
Kawhi Leonard, also rushed TP to congratulate his teammate, but in true Kawhi fashion, showed little emotion. This might be the biggest "grin"...
I think we all saw what happened last night. The Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder on a game winning shot by Tony Parker. Game over. Everybody on Oklahoma City played terribly and Scott Brooks drew up one of the worst final plays I’ve ever seen. Everybody just kind of stood around and waited for [...]
Austin Rivers said his first NBA game felt "good."
He knew that was not true.
Rivers had a rough go of it in his professional debut, bricking
eight of his nine shots and committing three turnovers in the Hornets' loss to
the Spurs on Wednesday. The combo guard out of Duke never displayed his usual
swagger in 24 minutes, turning down shots he hit...
NEW ORLEANS -- With rookie sensation Anthony Davis in the locker room nursing a concussion, Greivis Vasquez turned the corner for a driving layup with 1.3 seconds left to lift the New Orleans Hornets to an 88-86 victory over the Utah Jazz Friday night. Vasquez's layup came after Paul Millsap nailed a 3-pointer from the right baseline to tie the game, 86-86, with 7.1 seconds...
