The San Antonio Spurs have a franchise rich in history. From their ABA roots, George "Iceman" Gervin's "finger rolls," David Robinson's quadruple-double game, Sean Elliott's "Memorial Day Miracle" to the franchise's four NBA titles in 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007. However, those four titles (and not to mention their stamp as one of the best teams in NBA history) would not have been possible without one man - Tim Duncan. TD has led the franchise to national prominence, their dynasty run in the early 2000's and much more. So it goes without saying, if there was no Duncan, there may not have been a two titles for Robinson, the making of the "Big 3" of TD, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Head coach Gregg Popovich may not have been the coach he is today and the list goes on and on. So on this Spurs day let's go back to 1997 when the Spurs made him the number one overall pick in the draft. [follow]

Spurs' depth is the key for success this season

Video: Spurs' De Colo shows off impressive dribbling skills

San Antonio Spurs' Nando De Colo can pass, hit the clutch shot, run an offense and can really handle the ball. And "handle the ball" I mean De Colo's has an insanely, sick handle! Danny Green: Defense is biggest key

The regular season is nearing and the San Antonio Spurs will be in the hunt for title number five but unlike their championship teams, the team's defense isn't as strong. Their best defender is arguably Kawhi Leonard with Tim Duncan following but after that, the team is made up of decent defenders but not the type to bring the Spurs back to their past defensive ways which...

Witherspoon hoping to be a Spur this season

As a camp hopeful, getting invited to an NBA training camp is one thing but the goal is to survive, making a huge impression on the coaching staff, survive the cuts, and be the last one standing. So far, that is exactly what is happening for San Antonio Spurs guard Wesley Witherspoon as he and Josh Powell are the last two players standing for the final roster spot. And with...

What's better than one Manu? How about two

No you do not have to adjust your computer settings. What you are seeing is correct. It seems San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili figured out a way to clone himself. Which should bode well for the team seeing they can rotate between the two to have one fresh and ready to go come time for the playoff push.  Perhaps this explains why Manu seems rejuvenated each and every season....

Manu on new-look Lakers, fears & more

In a recent mailbag with NBA.com, San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili opened up about pretty much everything. He talked about anything from food and music to his NBA career and how he stays in top shape at his age. I love reading these mailbags because, most of the time, fans ask better questions than reporters. The questions aren’t focused on what Manu was thinking when...
