NBA-TV made some history on the NBA's opening night thanks in part to the San Antonio Spurs-New Orleans Hornets game. NBA-TV showed a double-header showcasing not only the Spurs-Hornets but the Blazers-Lakers game which averaged 758,000 viewers who tuned in. This marked the networks most-viewed opening night. For the Spurs-Hornets game, it averaged 638,000 viewers according to the network. Not only was it opening night, the game marked the debut of Hornets' Anthony Davis which most likely lent to record numbers of people who tuned in to watch. Moreover, many were eager to see Davis face the NBA veteran Tim Duncan as well as Austin Rivers' NBA debut. Moreover, with the Lakers adding Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, many were anxious to see how the two would mesh with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. Tonight the Spurs host the Jazz at the AT&T Center as the team will be looking to win three games in a row to start the new season.
