Found March 13, 2013 on Project Spurs:
When the San Antonio Spurs lost by 30 points at home to the Portland Trailblazers, "Captain Jack" Stephen Jackson said there was nothing to worry about. He was right. The team came back and had a huge win against Western Conference rival in the Oklahoma City Thunder. On Tuesday night, the Spurs had another disappointing showing against another team that won't be in the playoff picture this season. After the Spurs lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jackson was very creative with his post game thoughts on the game. Capt. Jack: "The sun shines on a dog's ass every now and then." — Jon Krawczynski (@APkrawczynski) March 13, 2013 This is another showing how confident the team and one of its leaders are towards a loss like this. The Spurs were on the second of a back to back where they had to travel overnight and played without its two starting forwards in Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan. The team looked flat the whole night, but got good shots off. On the defensive end, it was a different story. The Wolves made the majority of their shots and made them look easy, even from Ricky Rubio who's having a horrible shooting season this year. It's a safe bet that the Spurs would've won or made the game closer than it was with its two best defensive players on the floor. Although this loss is ugly, it shouldn't worry any fans for the long run. The team is still the number one seed for now and, at this point of the season, "spoiler" teams like the Timberwolves are coming full throttle in every game before the season ends. One of those games, they'll catch fire like they did last night. Last night's game obviously belonged to the Minnesota Timberwolves. As the saying goes, "every dog has its day" or Jackson's metaphor probably is more appropriate for this game since it was an ugly sight for Spurs fans.
