NiuBBall: JR Smith’s former CBA team has replaced him with Quincy Douby.  This probably doesn’t interest you now, but you’ll chuckle this spring when I tell you how much better they got (you may recall that Smith’s team failed to make the playoffs, something that’s never happened to a Douby-led squad).  Fun Fact: Douby set a CBA Finals record when he scored 53 points in a game in 2011.

Pro Basketball Talk: Speaking of JR Smith and his favorite nation, he says he’d actually be happy to make a return to the CBA someday, possibly in the twilight of his career.  Foolishly, JR seems to assume the Chinese would allow he and his family back in their country.

NBA.COM: It’s amnesty season and NBA teams are hitting the clearance rack.  While most will come away with minor pickups such as Brendan Haywood, who has been claimed by the Charlotte Bobcats, the Phoenix Suns have discovered a real bargain: Luis Scola.  While the complete rebuild of their roster will take time, I like what the Suns have done thus far (signed Dragic & Beasley, took a shot at Eric Gordon).

Eye On Basketball: Jason Kidd sucks at driving—both to the basket and his vehicle—especially when he’s drunk.  Maybe he felt like he wasn’t truly a New York Knick until he went and did something stupid.  Or maybe he’s just an alcoholic.

Posting And Toasting: A summary of most of the news/rumors pertaining to the current Jeremy Lin/Raymond Felton situation.  My thoughts?  First of all, I find it hilarious that the Knicks have sent a 2016 pick to Portland.  I’m figuring that’s because they’ve already given them all away through 2015.  Secondly, assuming Raymond Felton will get his ass back in shape, Jared Jeffries and Dan Gadzuric for Kurt Thomas and the aforementioned Ray Felton is a good trade for the Knicks.  Thirdly, the Rockets are stupid.  Jeremy Lin will not be worth 25 million f@cking dollars (at least not on the court), and I won’t blame the Knicks if they elect not to commit $15 million to an unproven commodity three years down the line.  I think Lin’s CEILING is solid to slightly-above-average starter, and I wouldn’t be totally surprised if his contract makes this Morey fellow regret his decision.

SLAM: And they aren’t about to overpay for Landry Fields, either.

ESPN: It’s an ESPN rumor, so take it with a grain of salt, but Ric Bucher is reporting that the T-Wolves have offered either Derrick Williams or as many as three first-round picks in a sign and trade for Nicolas Batum.  Unless David Kahn and Neil Olshey were working with a sh!tty cellular connection, causing “three first-round picks” to sound like “Darko Milicic,” then the Portland Trail Blazers are clearly being run by a group of chimpanzees.

Youtube: Team USA put on a scrimmage for the military last night.  In a nice display of sportsmanship Kevin Durant hooked LeBron up with a pretty sick alley-oop pass, which can be seen at the end of the video.

NESN: Thanks to Powerade, my new favorite sports drink, there is a billboard that congratulates LeBron James on his first NBA title just three miles from the TD Banknorth Garden.  I hope Powerade leaves this thing up for a while so that the boneheads who stand outside the stadium selling “LeBron is a b!tch” t-shirts will have to stare at it.

Yahoo!: Kobe says he’ll probably retire soon.  Are those capri pants?
